Same here :)
The crowd here wants a website to browse through :)
If you can tell us more about the support available, average reply time..if there's online chat support..etc..it would be very helpful I guess
AhmedF 12-20-2002, 10:35 AM Well .. cannot say much about their website, but I have a server [1.7 ghz celly] for my personal sites, and I am happy with them :)
kcdworks 12-20-2002, 12:48 PM Can you do FreeBSD on these servers instead of Redhat?
x86brandon 12-20-2002, 02:44 PM Yes, I could do FreeBSD
x86brandon 12-20-2002, 02:46 PM As for the lack of a website, you can thank a 31337 skr1pT k1DD13 named 'kid' for removing all the content from our servers.... :bawling:
one may not wish to advertise that fact :)
clocker1996 12-20-2002, 03:46 PM well then that's your own fault for having an insecure webserver.
lotuslnd 12-20-2002, 04:04 PM How much to colocate w/ detroitnetworks?

well then that's your own fault for having an insecure webserver. What an absurd thing to say. I guess if you accidentally leave the bars off of your front window and someone breaks into your home and steals your TV and VCR, you should just hang your head in shame.
Sorry, I had to vent on that. People who deface, destroy, maime, or otherwise disrupt any service by any means are the bad guys not the one who was victim to such acts. To think you are 100% secure all of the time is ignorance. If you are ever breached because you miss a security vulnerability window by a few hours then it must be your fault. Remember, the black hats frequently have enough details to stage an attack before the public is even aware that such security holes even exist.
Sheesh.

Well look at it this way, you're not helping yourself by "forgetting" to leave the bars on your windows open. You should be more careful when you now that people will try and break in...
But I do agree no one can be 100% "secure" from attacks.
ScottD 12-20-2002, 10:12 PM That wasn't the best metaphore really. :D
homeiss 12-20-2002, 10:17 PM Anyways, back on track, nice deal haxorboi. :agree:

Well said. It's not is fault that his server was attacked. On the other hand, I would probably not advertise the fact either and would just focus on getting a new site ASAP now that the server is presumably more secure.
x86brandon 12-20-2002, 10:22 PM Well, sometimes I think people need to be more aware of what happened to me.....
I was running OpenSSL 0.96d and that is I suspect how they got in, becasue there was other measures in place. In any event, it happened, and I recovered. I have never been one to hide things.
As for colo pricing, e-mail sales@detroitnetworks.net for pricing.
chuckt101 12-21-2002, 07:18 PM Your "temp" site (with title "New Page 1") is full of broken links and spelling/grammatical errors... I think the image would have been better...
