sorry i cant be more helpful but visit cobalt.com and use there knowledge base and search for dns setup thats where i learnt. The exact url would change as i think the knowledgebase is password portected and you have to sign up.
Or you could do a search here for cobalt dns setup theres plenty of threads.
thanks Technics for your reply. actually i have read almost all the post regarding dns here at wht and in cobalt knowledgebase, but they only provide guides on adding those records through the raq dns control panel and not through telent by editing the /etc/named.conf and etc/named/(related files).
anyone knows how to configure/edit dns records through editing /etc/named.conf and etc/named/(related files)?
thank you very very much for helping

Yes, surely. But it's not so easy, that we can tell you in a few lines how to do this.
DNS is a complicated matter, and if you do not have the full background, you can easily create more problems than necessary.
I'll recommend that you buy the book "DNS and BIND" by Albitz & Liu (from O'reilly). It describes pretty much everything you need to know. AFAIK there is not currently an edition which targets Bind 9.x directly - but all the information from Bind 8.x can easily be applied to 9.x too.
