Looking for a good merchant account. I am currently using authorize.net with my local bank, and their rates have gone from alright to absolute crap (Huntington).

Any suggestions for a new merchant? I don’t need support nor a card swipe, I just want to plug in the merchant and terminal ID’s into authorize.net and pay my reduced bill monthly. Ohh, and seeing money deposited into a bank account is a plus.

Be careful when you say you do not need support. Think about the unfortunate time you get a chargeback, pick a merchant Bank who provides exceptional support and is willing to fight for you against the chargeback.

I made a mistake by selecting the cheaper route and went with Online Data Corp and I got stung with two international fraud cards. I got zero support from them and they offered no help or interest in defending the charges. Because this put us over the 1% chargeback limit they immediately canceled us and posted us on the TMF file which basically black lists you from a merchant account any where else.

Bottom line is ask lots of questions and make sure you select someone who is willing to support you as a merchant. Oh and I would not select Online Data Corp.
