I'm looking for a low cost host that has lots of features. Probably need 5-15 mg starting out. Would like web-based email with list capability. Would like to pay $5-$10 / mo. I don't expect to use all the features initially, but don't wan't to be nickeled for them later.

Has anyone had experience with 123webhosting.net? They don't have web email, but their price/features look great.

I'm also considering Interserver.net. Any thoughts?

fthosting, Thanks for the reply in this and my other post inquiring about interserver.net. However, I'm interested in a U.S.-based host.

Anyone else have thoughts?

That's ok just a down side of being british i guess :).

What platform are you wanting to host on maybe i can help you find the right host for you. I have complied a list of decent hosts and depending on what platform and features you want i can point you in there direction.

I expect low volume for starters - the site is for my contract programming business (I provide VB, ASP, SQL Svr, Oracle, Java, Crystal, etc. pgmrs to clients for $70-$90/hr). Probably won't do more than 500 mg / mo. I'll probably have several static pages initially. Later I may want to develop a database application (mSQL or mySQL). I currently don't have a disposition of NT or UNIX - would consider either. Telephone support would be an attractive feature. Would like web email with list capability.

PS - Know anything about superior-host.com?

Well i havent heard no complaints about below10host if you feel uncomfortable about a host you should not host with them. Do not give the host a second thought if you feel uncomfortable.

Superiorhost now that's a good webhost support is fast and polite and there servers are good also.

I have stopped by below10host a bunch of times but I get scared off by the fact they dont have a phone #, no location, no info on server types etc....Wouldnt that make you nervous?

Yes because superiorhost.com has a terrible website while superior-host seems to have their act together. If I were them I think I would change my name...

I'd like to put a plug in for Below10host.

Although they don't seem to post their address, number, etc., if you e-mail their support, you get a prompt reply and they are very polite. They're part of AMS Computers (http://www.amscomputer.com) and are hosted on Alabanza. The actual company (AMS) is based in Murray, Kentucky.

My site (http://www.bum.cx <--- not up yet) has been hosted with Below10host for the past month or two and I've had no trouble with them at all.

Just food for thought ;-)

Sure about that? The netblock for below10host points back to Dialtone Internet...

Annette,

Yep. When you actually buy a site off them they place you on Alabanza. The actual Below10host site is hosted on DI (and has nothing to it).

If you're not sure, check my IP block for my site (http://bum.cx) - 208.56.85.*

(yes, looks familiar to Weaselboy's TH blocks ;-))

Ah, gotcha. That's an interesting way of doing things.

Anyone have thoughts on nethernet.com?

They offer $10 / mo. 50mb, 2gb transfer, webmail, mySQL, shopping cart, SSL, subdomains, & more. Seems like they have it all & their reviews on HostSearch are good http://www.hostsearch.com/showcomment.asp?companycode=846.

Its hard to tell if reviews can be trusted when people rave on how good the service is.

I meant netherweb.com (not nethernet).
