Does anyone use Google Voice here? I was trying to see if there was a way to make it so if anyone from a certain group called you, it would go straight to your voice mail instead of mobile?

Yes, You can do this. You would just modify the group settings and uncheck your phones so that it doesn't ring them.

no kidding, why is it terrible? I've used google voice since its GrandCentral days and have been extremely thrilled with the program. Between YouMail and google voice, i never use my celluar carriers voicemail.. honestly i cant even remember how to log into my carriers voicemail let alone what the passcode is..

My experience is some times it works good , but some times very slow.

Google Voice is good when you want to share message in mass.

I use it primarily to keep contact information to a minimum. GV calls whatever phone is with me (no more home, office, cell, work cell) and when I miss the call transcribes the voicemail and emails it to me. Also helps when you have those numbers you never want to hear from again... give the big X and block them forever!

I have a google voice number for the business counseling organization I'm a member of. It's nice to be able to control how the call is handled, screen the callers, transcribe voice mails, make that "outgoing" call and connect them with my cell without letting the callers know my cell, and of course if necessary block an abuser.

You really can't beat it for free.

I have it for personal use, and have had some trouble with it. Missed calls are common, and about 10% of the time there will be an echo on the line.

I don't experience either of those issues when using my normal cell phone number (which gets more use than the Google number).

There are a lot of good features, and like others have already said you cannot beat the price :)

Plus I got a really cool phone number: (###) ###-MIKE
