View Full Version : Need a good host
Hi
Looking for a host that can provide me with at least 128Mb of PHP memory and at least 20gb space and about 20gb+ bandwidth anyone know who can provide this?
eccspert 08-22-2010, 06:05 AM Have a look at the offers section, and I'm sure you'll find something there :)
Martyn-ISN 08-22-2010, 06:07 AM i think many hosting provides 128 mb php memory
I've tried a couple of different hosts all offer either 64mb or 32mb.
InoxHost 08-22-2010, 08:26 AM You may think about vps server which is quite cheaper now a days. You can setup your own php configuration.
I wouldnt have a clue about setting all that up lol
Jedito 08-22-2010, 12:34 PM Do you mean 128 MB per PHP process? or guaranteed for your account?
chennaihomie 08-22-2010, 12:55 PM try contacting host for setting up a custom package, they would happy to do it for you :) if you are paying a little extra.
HostColor 08-22-2010, 01:00 PM If your website(s) require more resources the best you'd do us to find a custom solution. It will be more expensive, but it'll work. So my advise is to ask for custom quotes and to compare a few web hosts.

I believe the OP is talking about the PHP memory_limit, which most hosting provider set to 32M or 64M at most.
I do not think a VPS is needed in this case as a low specification VPS may not be able to handle the 128M memory_limit at all.
@OP: You will need to look for a quality hosting provider for your requirements, which will not come too cheap. Do you have any budget in mind?
httpEasy 08-22-2010, 01:03 PM What budget are you looking into?
I've contacted the host for the third time, they have said no they will not upgrade the account or make a custom account and I would need a dedicated server which is incorrect! My host is wirenine.com. I am with them coming up 60 days they have a 60 day money back gurantee, I paid for one year which was I think $160

oh then you didnt get back your money i afraid but there is another solution to get 128mb in php when i wan running website and my scripts required 128 mb my server admin gives me code to put in htaccess file to enable 128 memory in php.ini i think you search on google you will find this or ask in programing section of this community
may be it will save your money
SnoorkAdvertiser 08-22-2010, 06:55 PM If you are looking for dedicated resources such as 128MB of RAM, then I would recommend and VPS solution. But if you need a standard hosting service with 20 GB of RAM and +20 GB of Bandwidth, you have a good choice looking at shared hosting service.
Check the offers section.
It's litespeed server, I tried the htaccess and also php.ini changing it etc, might be the one you are talking about?
Jedito 08-22-2010, 08:42 PM Try adding this to your .htaccess
php_value memory_limit 128M
And then check on your phpinfo to see if the change picked up.

Let's not exaggerate the price there :)
We simply do not allow shared customers to use more than 64M, that's the maximum limit which cannot be changed. If you need 128M for a script, you need a VPS or dedicated server depending on your budget.
chokol 08-23-2010, 06:38 AM Well, I have met this problem once and now I know how to recover :d
Thanks for sharing ur experience !!!
ldcdc 08-26-2010, 08:55 AM i would suggest you to go with popular ones like hostgator
Do you have first hand experience with them? Please provide a domain name that you are/have been hosting there.
BytesHub 08-27-2010, 04:08 AM How about considering a VPS instead? At least you'll have more control over your server.
Hi,
Web hosting can provide 128mb space but many are usually with only 25 mb's of space. I like hosting with more 128 mb od space.
Thank you.
FYI the OP is talking about the PHP memory_limit and not disk space.
Thank you for the information, Now i know, i am new to the PHP and learning about it.
No problem. :wht:
daddygo 09-05-2010, 01:43 AM VPS hosting may be good for you. Also depends on how many concurrent visitors you expect to visit your site.
TheMostCreative 09-10-2010, 09:50 AM I think you should try bluehost or hostgator
