Hi,

Sorry but I'm new to all this. I have a webdesign company and am going to get a reseller hosting account so that I can provide web hosting to my clients. They are only basic sites so the management of this will be OK with my limited knowledge. (I am learning fast). What I also want to do is to be able to see them domain names. It doesn`t have to be automatic. I was going to put a form on my site and have them fill that in. Once I verify all is OK I'd manually register the domain. What I need to know is where the best place for me to register all these domains would be. Would I be better going to the likes of godaddy.com and just registering them there individually.

Is the a site where I can register domain thru a central contol panel ?

Also what happens if my client wants to change to another company. Do I just change the nameserver info for them? How are future changes made then for them ? I could give the new company their account login but then they would see what the "real price was" or am I responsible for all future changes.

I see some companies have Domain management tool on their site where after registering a domain with them you can modify info. How could I get that ?

Thanks
Blaze

If you want to give customers a 'retail' control panel, you probably need to sign up for a reseller's account with one of the registrars that offer the service. I guess Enom is supposed to be pretty good, and Tucows. I'm with WildWest Domains, an affiliate of GoDaddy. The customer sees your 'branded' control panel, but they have their own masked account with the wholesaler so they can change DNS information.

You have to pay for the privilege though...WWD is $99 a year.

If you sign up as a reseller for eNom, one of the features you will have is the "Registry Rocket". It is a branded registration system that you basically just "plug in". You set the prices and that's it. Credit card processing, etc.. is all handled for you.

They also offer the PDQ, which is much better looking and has many more features, but costs $99/year. (registryrocket is free)

Anyway.. look through the forums for eNom resellers. Any existing reseller can create an account for you. most will give you one for free with pricing of $8.95 per domain.

Cheers!
