What all can cause a server load to soar over 250? I've did a TOP command and see a lot of httpd.

How many concurrent users can a server handle with the following specs accessing the site all at once

750 Pentium III
512 Ram
10 Gig IDE hard drive

And is there anyone out there that knows how to solve a server load problem for a reasonable rate?

Ok, I just rebooted my server and mySQL is down. So I had to reboot mySQL but now my VBulletin board won't come up.

You should be able to handle a fair amount. How much traffic do you generally have?

Without looking at your server, its hard to say what caused your problem.

Traffic varies around 1500 uniques per day average. The load problem just keeps getting worse and worse. The only advice from my webhost is to check the log files or pay them $150 an hour to take a look at it.
