Re: credit card billing...

There are places that somewhat rape you on the fees, *but* are free to start up, and have no monthly fees such as http://www.instabill.com (check the rates to see what I mean).

As a starter solution though, a service like this is ideal. A similar alternative is http://www.revecom.com and searching for either on this board will give you some onto on them and other methods of accepting payment.

Also take a look at www.ibill.com. Their rates are a little steep at 15%, but there are no startup fees or other hidden fees. They do however, hold back 10% of what you're owed for 6 months.

A good company to start with.

Cheers!

Well, It is kinda steep for 10 to 15 % of service charge. Let's say every $1000 of things we sell. They will charge us for $100. Emmm.... $100 can buy quite alot of stuff........ I am not to sure with this online credit card transaction. But is it the cheapest that i can find now?? Or if there any other way of billing??

For $1000, you might use revecom, they charge 3.95% and $1. So, they will only take $40.50 off your $1000. They're a $49 setup fee, but if you sell alot of high priced things, that's a good invesment. Though, if most of your products (plans) are less than $15, you are better with instabill.

Hi,

Go to:-

http://www.frugalescrow.com

If you sign up to their merchant account (not actually a merchant account, they just call it that)
you can accept credit cards at just 2.5% transaction rates. There are no setup fees or monthly fees either.
You can charge and recieve payments in multiple currencies so the Americans out there can use the service as well.

We use it even though we have a merchant account, that's how good it is! :stickout

Robert Kerry

hmm... just want to ask some of you some questions... i've been surfing the web for quite a while.. and i've saw many websites providing web hosting plans.. the plans seems alot better and cheaper than what we have actually considered on.. so guys, any comments?? oh yah.. at the same time, what do people basically look in a webhosting company..?

Some factors that affect a hosting company's pricing:

Reliability - Unreliable hosts may have cheaper prices;
Connection - Those with "weak" or "small" connections will charge lower rates;
Tech Support - Those without proper tech support may have cheaper prices
All of these things cost money!

Summary - Anyone with a computer and a modem could host websites from their machine, but would you want to be lhosted there?

To pick from the "best" hosts, try a host directory like www.webhostdir.com, www.tophosts.com or www.hostchart.com and search for what you're looking for. Then come back to a forum like this and ask if anyone specifically has had dealings with the hosts you're considering.

Good luck!

BH.

As I have mentioned in your other post, be careful with the above host directories. Some of the reviews have been paid for. I agree with the pricing. Dont let cost be the determining factor as long as it is within reason.
