I would like to someday have mail similar like Hotmail on my site and other various programs such as other databases, chat, auctions etc.. that share the same usernames and passwords as my vBulletin.

Is that pretty hard to do? And can anyone recommend any web add-ons that integrate easily with vBulletin's members database?

I don't think any such hacks are readily available, but a simple understanding of vBulletin's table layout will help you to integrate it with other areas of your site.

I did some significant integration in my site, which allows people to use vB's cookie to access other areas of the site. It's just a matter of a few simple queries to vBulletin's database -- not difficult at all.

However, it might get a little more sticky if you wanted to combine a script like Alias-Mail (SolutionScripts.com) and vBulletin. There's not going to be an easy way, unless you're willing to hire a professional.
