Hi!
I am considering the creation of a call termination service, and i would like to know some basic information.
I am new to this and maybe i have misunderstood some things, so correct me if I am wrong. This is what I have understood so far:
The local telecoms company can provide me with an ISDN PRA line which consists of 30 + 1 channels. This can provide me with 30 concurrent connections which I think is quite a lot and is going to cost a lot as well.
The other option is a ISDN BRA connection with 4 added MSN (Μultiple Subscriber Number). This way, I can have 4 concurrent connections.
4 concurrent connections is good for a start, what do u think? How many minutes will I pull through per month with 4 connections?
I am also going to need a server running ASTERISK with the proper hardware (FXO cards). Will I need any more hardware?
Finnaly, I will need an internet connection for the incoming calls. According to some googling, the bandwidth depends on codec, but the standard is 16Kb/s per call which is not going to be an issue.
Will a DSL line provide acceptable quality calls for a start or will I need a datacenter?
How can i find out about the current wholesale price for the destination I am considering to setup the service? The local voip providers sell retail at 0,019euro/min.
Thanks,
Mike
