I am a moderator on a forum and today I was looking at the "who's online" section showing users IP addresses. Besides myself, another user showed with my IP address. I checked the user's cp and the e-mail is the owner of the forum.

I posted a query to him asking why he did this and so far I have not received an answer, although I know he's there and has seen my post because the "offender" is gone.

I am wondering why would someone do this? How upset should I be..:mad: ? What harm can be done?? :confused:

Are you going through a proxy? That could explain this.

I am connected with cable, and yes I think there's a proxy. If so, wouldn't the owner's other IDs show with the same IP??

I noticed now the "user" signed out, then back in and now has the same IP as the owner's "main" identity.

Thanks, mainarea...I think you were right. I just had a discussion about it, finally...he tells me he's using an anonymous proxy service for the others. It just gave the creeps at first..lol
