View Full Version : What's wrong with Plexhost?

I seem to be seeing a lot of negative replies here, it seems like a lot of people on these forums have been ripped off by their webhost at some point and are scared of genuine good offers as a result. So here's a little comment to those who want to look a gift horse in the mouth.

I've been using Plexhost for a weeks now, servers have never been down, customer service is swift and excellent, cheap, and the servers have unlimited nearly everything except BW and quota, both of which are high. I could go on and babble about how great plexhost is now but a lot of people wont beleive me anyway, yeah sure I work for plexhost of course it's that simple, let's put it this way I wouldn't mind working there, not that they will ever take a poor student but hey until then I can atleast use their services :)

I remeber reading somewhere that they were dishonest, since their reseller page and main page have some small differences, there's also a simple explanation: their new website is still under construction. Back in the good old day (2 weeks ago) you could get quite a bit more bandwidth and space for your buck, they seem to have realised that they cant continue to offer this sort of space to that money, but they still hold to all old members like me and keep our prices at their current levels. Even then their prices are much lower than anything else on the market, as are their features. As a last note, anyone who wants to signup should do so relatively quickly, I cant imagine the prices staying at this level for too long, they are still way too low :) First come first served ...

PS: Dammit I always forget to post the most important bit:

If they were just launched last month, you couldn't have been using them too long.

something like that, I've been using them for 2 weeks, 1st with a trial account, then since last tuesday with a full

seriously I have nothing but praise

I know people find it hard to beleive when offers like this come round the corner but I've been there and the grass really is greener on the other side :)

Vampire, you're pushing them pretty hard mate. You pumped them in 2 other threads and then out of the goodness of your heart, you open a new thread pumping them too. Give us a break!!

Folks get a bit sus about such activity these days. :D

lol

I was waiting for a post like that

read my previous posts in other threads, I have nothing to do with them beyond using their service. My business is translations, I'm in the process of building an international team of translators, what's wrong with telling people I like plexhost in my spare time?

PS Spam is not my intention I was simply trying to reply to a few of the (overly negative IMHO) posts that I have read in various places, to the effect of: That's cheap, it cant be any good

Yes and the community will continue to post like that when "newbie" with 7 posts comes in to bat for a particular host. If you don't work for them or are affiliated with them in some way [free hosting for some "kind words"], then you're doing more damage with your posts.

It's bad enough when you pump them in multiple threads, but now you open a new thread and pump away.

Experience is the key.. if you are still happy in 3 months time then come back and let everyone know.. for now your 2 weeks experience is documented and noted..

Its nice to plug your host for the good things that they do etc.. just looks suspect when you go overboard (IMHO) :D

again apologies for ppl who got pissed off by my post volume, I think I may have gone a little *ahem* too far, so apologies for that, maybe a slightly more measured response is called for ... :)

Like Steve said; come back and let us know how you're getting along in a few months. :)
