Not sure if this is the proper place to put this but am looking for some help if I could in changing an image using firework. Basically the picture is a .gif image and I am wanting to add my site to the logo. It simple says Welcome, and there isn't enough room to add my site except to the bottom but cannot figure out how to add more room, make the current .gif image bigger to do so. Can this be done using fireworks or do I need some other picture editor?

The exact steps and dialogues to do that vary with different versions of Fireworks, but you should be able to get to it through Modify on the menu bar.
If you wanted to keep the original image for later use, just start a new canvas (File -> new) and make it the size you want. Once this opens, and you have the original image open as well, click inside the original image to select it, and drag to the new window. This copies the original GIF to the new window as an object.
Fireworks is a terrific editor for vectors, and has some great features for optimizing. The only thing I found lacking is the slice feature tends to create extra table cells and spacer images on export that aren't necessary. Makes it more complicated than it should be, even for quite simple slicing.

You can always take a look at the help provided with Fireworks. The help in MX is pretty good.. :)
