I wasn't sure where to post this, but I have an idea. You know how this forum has a single post where all the hosts are supposed to post so that everyone (or at least everyone who is a regular here) is listed in one long list to make it easy for customers to research?

I think we should have a similar post specifically for web hosting directory sites. It seems like every other day a new hosting directory site pops up. It's absolutely impossible to keep track of them all. There is (or was) a great list at hostcompare.com, but who knows how accurate and complete it really is.

I think if we had a post here we'd be able to get the majority of directories. And just like with hosts, they can list other information (i.e. what topics they have, whether they do awards, whether they charge for basic directory listings, etc.).

So, what does anyone else think? Would one of the moderators like to start such a thread (I think it should be WHT-sanctioned, which is why I didn't just start the thread myself).

He's got the link to the hosts who are members thread, but nothing about hosting directories who are members.

Plus I read these forums 2 to 3 times a day for ... well, for as long as I can remember, and I don't ever remember seeing such a thread. I could be wrong, but I think I would have noticed it.

So how about it - can we get a thread that lists all (or as many as possible) of the various host directories and search sites?

That is not we r looking for, we mean a list for "web hosting directories" exp: wenhostdir, tophost, hostsearch...etc

This is a good idea. A thread full of hosts is a resource for customers/clients, but a thread full of host directories serves as a resource for both customers, and hosts looking to spread the word.

I just opened a host directory (small and pitiful right now), and love this idea! :)
