View Full Version : And the winner is...

Site5.com! :)

It was a tough call for me because almost all of the hosts I was looking at seemed to be top notch with great service and support. The final two, WizardsHosting and Site5 are two of the best hosting companies I've had the pleasure to correspond with. However, I needed to choose one and in the end, I went with the company who I thought would best meet my newbie, yet growing, needs.

That's not to say WizardsHosting is in any way inferior. Actually, Carlos and his staff were just as helpful, forthcoming and fast in their responses as the people I spoke with at Site5. The main reason I chose Site5 over WizardsHosting was the problems VDI is having and the general feeling of unease that it gives me. I realize that no host will be 100% reliable all of the time, but since I am looking for a new host now, I don't feel I can go with WizardsHosting regardless of the otherwise stellar perfomance, price, service and support.

:(

I'm writing this because several people have written me asking for an update on which service I chose and why. I hope that my experiences will help others.

There is some scheduled maintenance going on over in the NOC right now.

Well,
That was a no loose choice for you. Either one would have done you good. Good luck with your site TMG.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

As a quick follow-up, my site is up and running although it is still in the alpha stage of development. However, the staff at Site5, especially Vince (who also seems to frequent this board) has been nothing short of superb in helping me out.

So far I couldn't be happier with my choice in hosts.

So now I have to wonder, how many posts do I need to make before I'm no longer a 'Newbie'?:D

I sent them a dedicated server information request three days ago and have heard nothing back yet... Not a good first impression.

Thank you for the kind words .. on a call like this, having a customer choose Site5 over us, is for me considered an honor, at least we are in pair with the best :)

Site5 is an outstanding company, and you will love it there, Matt and Vince are the best :)

Now ... about the network problems .. (*&%%#$#@

Thewitt,

I'll check on your request for you and see why you haven't received a response yet. I'm sure there's a very good reason for the delay. ;)

We apologize for any problems.

Carlos,

Thanks for the kind words. We do our best. :)

Best Regards,

I wrote site5 a few days ago, asking a few pre-sales questions, and I didn't get a response either. I believe I sent the email on the 23rd. I've seen a few posts of this nature about site5 lately, could you guys have a bad email address on your site or something?

ginakra: I'm not sure if sales got your emails or not, feel free to email me directly, and I'll see what I can do to help.
vince@site5.com

Also, let me know when you email where you emailed originally, and I'll see if we have a problem somewhere.

Regards,
Vince.

I'm a current site5.com customer but also experienced slow (meaning: no) response from their sales department. Wrote them a few days ago about (to inquire about additional services!) but no reaction so far. Otherwise, everything's OK with them.
