I read that when a customer receives a bill from 2checkout then it dosent say your domain name/company on the bill, i read on this forum that this was changing this year. Has it happened yet? I cant see a mention of it on their website. When will this be happening? does anyone know please before i sign up with them.
Steve.
As an update, please note that effective today, December 12, 2002 at 1:30 PM EST we began passing through the descriptor information you have registered with 2Checkout.com.
Charges posted at or after this time will appear as:
2CKO.com*(your descriptor)
on the customer's credit card or debit card statement.
We're certain this will greatly facilitate charge-recognition and subsquently reduce the number of charge identifying questions and chargebacks experienced.

Hi Tom
But does it also mention my site www.pashmina-shawls.com on the customers statement. I also read that your customer support by email was very slow is this still the case, i would still use your services with slow support as i am impressed with your price structure. Maybe this forum is the best place to get a response from 2checkout! Thanks for the quick reply.

I thought it would say 2checkout.com - as per the new agreement:
This requires a text disclaimer to be posted on your
website that indicates: "Some credit card and e-check purchases will be sold by 2Checkout.com,
Inc. - Ohio, U.S.A. Products or services provided by <your company
name>"
Now it's 2CKO.COM ?
Just checking.

Joe, they are talking about the descriptor that appears on your customers credit card statement.
sgwilks: AFAIK you will be limited to 8-12 characters to putinto the descriptor field in 2CO. You will need to tell your customers that "2KCO.com*Descriptor" will appear on your customers credit card statement. The merchant contact phone number will probably still be that of 2Checkout.
Note: I don't work for 2CO, so Tom will probably come around to confirm this...

Can someone please explain what a descriptor is?

A descriptor is what appears on your customers credit card statement
That's pretty cool.
I'm comparing 2checkout and paysystems.
Any chance Paysystems (not including their merchant account) is also implementing this (a specified descriptor on the customer's bill)?
Thanks.
