Whatever happened to whois.net? I haven't been able to reach their site for a couple of weeks.

Whois.net has been semi-defunct for well over a year now; I don't think you can still rely on it to do any research ...

Unless I'm missing something, that doesn't look anything like whois.net. whois.net let you enter a work like "host" and it would return all domain names that had "host" in it, both active and deleted (I know you can search deleted domains that way with deleteddomains.com, but not active ones like you could with whois.net).

http://www.netcraft.com has a utility for pulling all names with "X" in it.

For some reason, a lot of the good WHOIS sources have been going defunct... Along them is www.whoisd.com.

They could just be having technical problems-- But they've been down for a few days now.
