Hi,
We installed webmin on cobalt req 4 then we had problems because of the conflict between webmin and cobalt raq4 control panel which we knew recently.
Then we uninstalled webmin and returned to use cobalt control panel but it did not function properly. Our company told us that this because of the conflict and the case will stay as it is unless we achieve a full restore. This full restore will be done by the company and it will cost us $99.
Can anybody told us if we can do it ourselves or it's just be made by the company?
Thanks for your help.

You will have to get them to restore the box. This is pretty standard for any provider.

Why would you install WebMin when there is already a GUI on the server? Also, starting with RaQ3, a PostgreSQL database is used to maintain a lot of configuration info; this is what enables the dynamic GUI generation. If you don't use the GUI to do all your work (or the unsupported "shell-tools" package), changes are not made to the database, and the GUI will be broken. That is why command-line administration of Cobalt servers is not supported or recommended.

An OS Restore is the only way to ensure the database gets reset cleanly; as you then add domains to the server via the GUI, the database will be kept current.

You cannot do an OSRestore yourself as the RaQ must be physically connected to a PC/laptop which can boot off the Cobalt OSRestore CD...

Does this also mean a Raq 4 comes with postgreSQL installed??

:D

Cool - so that means a raq comes with Interbase 6 , mySQL , AND postgreSQL?
That looks nice :_)

Technically it does not come with MySQL, but it's so easy to install it (via .pkg file) that many people assume it does.
