Which of these companies do you like the best (poll). Bassed on performance and latency throughout all of their national backbones.

Rate of transfer, to reliability.

Every question has an obvious wrong ;)

I am just curious. For the people who voted for Cogent, what is your reasoning behind it?

Probably because it's cheap, and a good file dump. :o

it means its not $99/mo like you might think it is. 45mbit from internap is expensive as hell, and i doubt you're serious about it.

I voted only based on the first part of the question:
Which of these companies do you like the best (poll).

and I voted for them because without Cogent, other (currently better) providers would likely not be providing the prices they are either, not by a long shot, and I would never have been able to afford the amount of bandwidth I need if Cogent was not part of the market.

For that matter, many interesting sites might actually load slower without cogent than with it :D What I mean is that if you had to plaster enough banner ads and popups over those sites to pay for super premium bandwidth rather than cogent/yipes/williams/etc.....

I like Cogent as a company because they came to the market with something new and broke from the pack. They created a new tier of pricing which allows a lot of small sites and not-for-profit sites to get going. Less expensive bandwidth allows the internet to provide things freely to everyone in a more unbiased context rather than shifting to totally commercial to cover high costs.

Just because he is 15 does not mean he doesnt have money,Prioritycolo.com is not a bad little business and you do not know how much money he is making so i dont think you should doubt anything you realy do not have a clue about. Just my $0.2

actually, im friends with myles (owner of prioritycolo, and I talk to myles quite often. Besides, friends, or not, why is it any of my business how much money prioritycolo is making? Why is it any of YOUR business??

Besides, myles is an adult, so i don't even know why you're even trying to compare, or bring in prioritycolo in this thread.

Actually.....

My post had absolutly nothing to do with his age, i dontk now the guy, never heard of him before, cant even remember the nickname now without going back to look. Priority Colo Inc. could not afford a full ds3 from Internap at this time, much less alone a oc192, my joke was on the common misconception of "if its said on WHT, it must be!", and to be frank, anyone who claims they're getting any form of connectivity over WHT i doubt because theres far too much talk that goes nowhere.

On that note, do a search for peer1, someone awhile back had been ranting they got $50,000 for 1gbps quote from peer1, got me all excited as i'd never gotten quotes from peer1, tsk tsk was i ever disappointed when i contacted and found out that was completely false, and they didn't even do 1/4 of that pricing , again establishing the "all talk" of WHT.

clocker.

My age has nothing to do with my ability to accomplish the task of aquiring the amount of money required to lease a DS3 line from Internap.

It might have something to do with signing a legally binding contract with Internap though :)

Yeah, that's why you have your partner who is over 18 sign it.
