I cancelled my account today since it's been 1 month since I have problems with Web Host 4 Life services. Since june 6 (they have a notice on their site (Web Host 4 Life.com/info/systemnotice.bml?id=8424), when you want to create a new web site, you have to deal with their... cra*y support service (that always ask you to wait 4-5 min...) because you always receive a "403.6 Forbidden: IP address of the client has been rejected" error.

They changed their hosting panel and servers and since then... all hell breaked loose...

I was used their service for my small projects, so I was aware that their services wasn't super, but... after one month of fighting with the 403.6 issue... tonigh... I had enough... so if you want something cheap... don't go their... you won't be able to setup something quick.

Sorry to hear about the issues you had with Web Host 4 Life. Have you chosen a new provider yet? If not I'd check out the hosting offers section.

I've done some research last night and I found dotnetpark . They fit my needs. I'll will review them after my initial setup.

What control panel do they use?

They have developed their own control panel. Really easy to use. Give it a try, they have a demo on their site: forum.dotnetpark.com/viewtopic.php?t=174

So far... i'm impressed! For 12$/m (billed each 3months) or 10$ if you pay for 1 year. Can't do better for the price.

I mean what control panel do web-host-4-life use? :D
Dotnetpanel demo from Dotnetpark is a very old version 1.5.2
Latest Dotnetpanel build is 2.8.14 and many hosts already upgrade to new WebsitePanel version.

Is Dotnetpanel the only control panel which is offered from this company?

I realize this is a relatively older post but I currently have the same problem with ************.com with the 403.6 error. i imagine that they turned it off and forgot to turn it back on when a billing issue got resolved, but it is rather annoying.

About 2 years ago they switched to a new set of servers and I had all kind of nightmares trying to get my database working again. All the while losing a few clients who were getting frustrated with our lack of solutions.

My recent billing problems stemmed from the fact that the $5.95/mo rate they state on the page that describes the hosting that we have is not the actual price they expect people to pay. the real number is hidden deep in their website. We have actually used them for about 7 years so a quick jump in cost hit us as a surprise.

The main reason I use them still is I haven't really been able to find an ASP host that has the ASPUpload & ASPJpeg components for a low price. If anyone knows of a hosting company that might be better and has those components pls drop me a line.

Of you need the ASPUpload and ASPJpeg components I would recommend looking at WinHost (http://www.winhost.com). They are supported there.

Sounds like WHT doesn't like them as well (****'s). As for ASPUpload and other well used components for ASP there are still a lot of good hosts that offer them. Persists, the company who makes all those products, works well with hosting companies to get fairly decent pricing.

Web Host 4Life was previously pretty good before merged to EIG, now almost forgotten by every old clients... it's sad thing.
