With the popular payment systems (paysystems, 2checkout, etc.) how hard is it to change a recurring bill? Say I have a customer who signs up for pkg A @ $10 a month and a few months later wants to upgrade to pkg B @ $15 a month.

Is this something that can be done with the billing systems mentioned elsewhere? (perlBill, modernbill and cydock)

Also, I assume that the payments systems can easily be used with optioned charges? Say the user wants pkg A and option 1, 3 and 7 all of which of course change either the setup fee and/or monthly fees.

EDIT: I think I found an answer for modernbill, with their child package options. Is that correct?

Thanks!

Hello,

CyDock meets all those requirements.

If you're using a 3rd party billing system (2CO, Revecom, et al)..

the client is going to have to, at some point, visit the 2CO site (for instance) to re-signup under the new billing. I don't think any of the 3rd party systems allow the merchant to edit the recurring order as far as the monthly amount goes.

As far as PerlBill, Modernbill, etc... any of them should support upgrading packages within them.. (But again, the actual billing is still going to need to be updated with the 3rd party)...

CyDock does not use the payment gateways recurring billing for this exact reason. CyDock has it's own recurring billing.invoicing system to prevent this from being a problem.
