View Full Version : What payment system to use?
Fallen angel 07-09-2010, 02:51 PM Hi all! I'm looking a way for accept payments from USA/Canada and Europe residents. I'm from Ukraine, and can't use a paypal. So, please help me to find a good payment system. Expect Western Union, Visa / Master Card - i already use it, but more than 50% clients use only Paypal.
Thanks.
Sparrow-Eric 07-09-2010, 03:32 PM If you can't use PayPal, and already are accepting the majority of Debit/credit cards you might always consider eCheques or a normal bank transfer.
If you are looking into providing another payment processor for debit/credit cards, 2checkout might be an alternative.
Fallen angel 07-09-2010, 03:35 PM 2co expensive for me,but i will keep in mind it, other offers?
Thanks!
Sparrow-Eric 07-09-2010, 03:41 PM You can find a list of many payment processors at: http://whmcs.com/modules.php
I'v only worked with PayPal and 2Co. Good luck in your search! :)
bvsonline 07-09-2010, 03:50 PM Alertpay, moneybookers and Liberty Reserve are also options which works similar to paypal and even accepts and allow payment to paypal and banks.
Allied-Wallet 07-09-2010, 04:12 PM What type of product or service are you offering? That could restrict who you are able to use as well.

inspiron 07-09-2010, 09:16 PM We are using paypal and 2co and finding them the best payment gateways until now.
inspiroHost 07-10-2010, 03:21 PM I would suggest CDGCommerce backed with Paypal.
fcfpayments 07-13-2010, 05:07 PM Facts to consider:
2CO collects a 5.5% commission on each transaction plus a $0.45 USD charge per sale.

So much of it depends on the type of processing and the product. Also the volume you do. It's really hard to recommend the best bank without knowing those things. PayPal is a double edged sword. Some customers will buy because they recognize the name, but a lot (about %12) might not buy because they either don't have a Paypal account or lost their password or had a bad experience with another vendor.
Paypal is an option, because there will be plenty of people who see the logo and lost their password and feel they can't buy. These are newbie customers of course, but you have to offer them a real option to accept any credit card.
haind 07-15-2010, 04:16 AM 2checkout is best, if you can't use paypal
praveenkv1988 07-15-2010, 04:43 AM 2checkout is the best. Paypal is better.
HTTP404 07-15-2010, 04:48 AM In my opinion you have 3 main options;
1 - PayPal - widely supported in most countries
2 - 2Checkout - Limited to credit card processing only
3- Google Checkout - Requires you to have SSL installed to work completely.
Fallen angel 07-15-2010, 05:36 AM Hmm, i think i would like a Google Checkout, SSL installed from Godaddy.
Aran11 08-03-2010, 05:29 PM Has anyone tried using SagePay? If so what are their views on it, we are considering implementing it.
fcfpayments 08-03-2010, 05:37 PM What are you selling, price point, your location, target market?
What services are you going to utilize from SagePay? All items to consider.

Sparrow-Sean 08-07-2010, 06:30 PM PayPal works more commonly over other payment methods such as Google Checkout and other alternativs like 'authorize.net'.
However, utiulizing in both PayPal and 2Checkout are not that bad from experience - you really cannot go by without investing in either one :)
fcfpayments 08-07-2010, 06:33 PM When are business people going to understand that "auth.net is only a gateway and is not the processor?
Disrelation 08-11-2010, 05:10 AM Paypal and Google Checkout are the best I've worked with so far.
Aran11 08-14-2010, 04:02 PM We use PayPal
onerack 08-14-2010, 06:32 PM Paypal is our primary payment method since it is most commonly used and extremely secure.
Aran11 08-14-2010, 06:37 PM Its paypal's ease of use and widespread use that make it soo attractive.
onerack 08-14-2010, 06:50 PM Its paypal's ease of use and widespread use that make it soo attractive.
I couldn't agree more.
Aran11 08-14-2010, 07:07 PM 2checkout may be a more expensive option but its worth it (second to PayPal)
webhost22 08-15-2010, 05:08 PM You can try Alert Pay. Check if they are accepting payments from the countries you mentioned.
InfiniteTech 08-15-2010, 07:03 PM Hmm, i think i would like a Google Checkout, SSL installed from Godaddy.
GoogleCheckout is available only for US and UK residents.
SevenL_Leon 08-18-2010, 01:05 PM If you cannot use paypal. You are kinda out of luck because it is the most widely used payment system on the internet. I would suggest and try to get a third party to accept payments for you, or you'll be losing a lot of business.
technut 08-18-2010, 01:15 PM Along the same line of your question, see our post at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?p=6963348 for more in depth information about what payment system to use and why we choose to use a payment gateway addon module in our WHMCS.
Thanks.
chennaihomie 08-21-2010, 01:38 PM +1 for 2checkout.com they are great so far.
CINIPAC 09-01-2010, 04:33 PM For Europe residents you should use paypal or paysafecard. For ukraine, russia etc. you should use webmoney.
ramnet 09-05-2010, 06:56 PM GoogleCheckout is available only for US and UK residents.
Just to clarify, it's only available for US and UK merchants.
As far as your customers location is concerned Google and PayPal cover a similar number of countries (and Google covers some countries PayPal doesn't and vice-versa).
Sadly, Google doesn't publish a list of countries it supports (only way to find out is to try and signup).
Here is a list of Google checkout and PayPal countries that you might find useful: http://aralbalkan.com/1350
