hi,

I'm currently a customer of ultimahost (their UK division). There reliability is really awful in the last time

- Virus infection on the hosting
- Several downtimes of DNS, SQL server, Webserver ....
- They migrate some of the servers (don't know why) and blamed this for multiple issues.
- In the last days every day the website was down or had 503 errors or another part was down

Summing up, I’m unhappy with them and so I’m looking for an affordable alternative in europe with the following characteristics:

- Stable servers and infrastructure
- Competent and FAST support if there are Server issues
- Located in EU (Germany preffered, UK possible)
- 500 MB MSSQL (2005 or better 2008), remote usable
- ASP.NET 3.5 and ASP.NET 4.0
- Traffic ~10 GB
- 1 GB hdd
- DotNetPanel + SmarterMail or something similar

Anyone has a suggestion and has personal positive experience with this host. Thx

Virus infection is most likely webmaster's computer has virus which automatically upload malicious code (iframe or encoded javascript).
Regarding other issues, you should run website backup every day and keep backup data on local computer.
Have a look in offer forum. You can also use this link (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/hostquote.php) to request quote from hosting provider.

Do you have a specific budget in mind?

Usually this is done for consolidation of the servers. Most of the hosting company do this at a regular interval.

IMO it's not the case for windows hosting because of too much work required.
We only do migration once last year when upgrading some Windows 2003 servers to Windows 2008.

I was looking into ultimatehosts too, but I just got a weird feeling that maybe their support would be so-so. I think because of their "worldwide" setup. I am looking into hyper-v-mart which is the sister to databasemart, but I can't find any good reviews on them. Anyone had experience with them? Their prices are good, but I gotta hear some reviews first.
