Josh Allison 07-07-2010, 07:37 PM I would class this as blackmail to be honest, no?
GraphicLoader 07-07-2010, 08:58 PM Gads everyone but the OP is speaking an intelligible language...
Lay off the colors and spell check if you wish to be taken seriously/
14vivin 07-08-2010, 03:09 AM Hey Guys i will let u know more details if i dont get this issue solved here.
Sorry for not Putting it.
Also i am not asking you to support me because i know i am not the person who did the mistake here. Its them.
IF U WANT MORE DETAILS ON THE COMPLAINT ask representative of LIQIDWEB to give me permission for that
dariti 07-08-2010, 03:20 AM This is a joke. You're threatening to leave a bad review if they don't respond to your tickets with what you want to hear? Do you honestly think anyone is taking you seriously? If you have had a bad experience, then write a review. If your intentions are just to threaten LiquidWeb, then keep this away from WHT; this isn't the place to do your dirty laundry.
Rubbish thread.
14vivin 07-08-2010, 03:22 AM Dear friend as i mentioned
1: my Server Got Attacked am Not Complaining about that.
But to find out the reason and Help Me to get the Files back, they Took 3 weeks and still the complaint is unsolved ( 1 month +)
2: The Server is showing 13TB usage while my Sites are using max 30 Gb or So ( DId u used the rest 12TB 970 GB )
3: Liquid web / Storm is takling 3 days or more to respond to a support, that too serious issues
4: They are happy to Support if i raise a ticket here. Else they dont Mind
5 : If i raise a support ticket they will 1st try to give more troubles rather than solving the same.
6: Liquidweb Security Team / Abuse teams are not Efficient, They dont even know how issues happens and how to solve it, And always put the abuse on the customers

1. Is security something that is included in the management agreement you have with LiquidWeb (assuming you do have a managed service with them)?
2. Its possible that the attackers still have access to your server which would explain the unaccounted bandwidth usage. Have you taken any measures to secure your server/recover from the compromise?
3. I'd like to hear Benny's comment on this.
4. WHT is not LiquidWeb's helpdesk.
5. I don't think LiquidWeb is in the business to inconvenience their customers. I think the likely scenario here is that you're expecting support for something that they have not agreed to cover (please clarify). How can they help someone who is not helping themselves? Coming to WHT to complain isn't helping anyone.
6. Again, if the security of your server is not covered in the agreement you have with them, then this would be entirely your responsibility. If whatever is happening on your server is negatively impacting other customers, I'd understand why the LiquidWeb Abuse team would be putting pressure on you to resolve the problem.
jmunki 07-08-2010, 03:38 AM If the hosts at fault, fair enough, they should be dealing with it, but...
If YOUR web got attacked (god knows why if your handling of this situation is anything to go by), then YOUR at fault.
If YOU know what YOUR doing, you'd have checked the various access logs YOURSELF to know how they attacked it.
And, as any sain person knows, BACK UP BACK UP BACK UP then BACK UP AGAIN!!!
It appears your own laziness and lack of knowledge is at fault.
Benny @ ISP has offered to help, however instead of working with the ISP, your posting nonsense.
14vivin 07-08-2010, 04:24 AM 1. Is security something that is included in the management agreement you have with LiquidWeb (assuming you do have a managed service with them)?
I have a managed Service from Storm
2. Its possible that the attackers still have access to your server which would explain the unaccounted bandwidth usage. Have you taken any measures to secure your server/recover from the compromise?
They are telling its a DOS attack happened , and from where and how they dont know
3. I'd like to hear Benny's comment on this.
I am also waiting for that
4. WHT is not LiquidWeb's helpdesk.
I waited for 3 days , no proper response. If i post here they are ready to reply. cause people read this while support ticket u cant. While i had similar issue last time which were closed automatically, after 1 month
5. I don't think LiquidWeb is in the business to inconvenience their customers. People will be able to know that their Herotic support is getting Idiotic and nowadays are lazy to support too. All are giving reason "my shift is gonna end now, so another persson willl respond to this" When my server and sites are down they do this play. do i have to entertain them
6. Again, if the security of your server is not covered in the agreement you have with them, then this would be entirely your responsibility. I am worried because the Top company that i have ever met or used is going down always and the super quality is not there.
Now i got a bill of 2000$+ for 13TB usahge which i cant find on my control panel / whm usage. so do i have to pay for it ?
Hope u got the replys

The Host Got atacked

I am doing the backups. But am worried like 13 T bandwidth charged for me in my Bill is just a big mistake
It appears your own laziness and lack of knowledge is at fault.
Benny @ ISP has offered to help, however instead of working with the ISP, your posting nonsense.
I might be posting nonsense because i lost the files, i lost the servers and now i will lose 2000$+ for nothing. will u pay that ??
14vivin 07-08-2010, 04:36 AM DEAR FRIENDS
Liquidweb have removed the charges that would have been incurred for the
bandwidth overages [ Outgoing Bandwidth Usage: 14077.023 GB Transferred
and i got confirmation that they will look on the server issues and so.
So i hope i got the response that i wish to hear.
So i will be stopping this post here.
Hope u guys will Not come and mess with me by supporting Liquidweb.
Thanks for all ur support and help
Sorry Liquid web for putting the issue in public

1. We have done everything in our power to help you track down the root cause of your repeated hacks.
2. When your server was exploited, the exploiter sent out an outbound attack that significantly increased your bandwidth use. We had already explained that to you.
3 -6 These are absolutely untrue. Our required level of attention neither allows for a ticket to for 3 days requiring a response (it's flagged long before it would ever get to the single day mark), nor would we attempt to further complicate a problem before resolving it. We do not require that a customer start a thread here before we respond appropriately to the problem at hand. We have repeatedly offered advice to you on how to resolve the problems that have resulted in your server being exploited and your content being removed.
In the future, if you are not receiving the level of service that you believe you should, I would ask that you email me directly about it as soon as you are unhappy, rather than emailing me a link to the WHT thread that you've started after the fact.
Thank you, and let me know if you have any further questions.
SimonMc 07-08-2010, 07:42 AM Hope u guys will Not come and mess with me by supporting Liquidweb.
I don't think anyone here could support Liquiweb more than you have done yourself. You have highlighted quite clearly how decent their support is. I am sure they are very grateful for you giving them the opportunity to show that in public.
Host Our Web 07-08-2010, 10:00 AM Did you all miss the fact in his first post that he has a ticket that was not responded to for three days?
Granted it was a little bit hidden and he also never said in his first post that "Hey... fix it or I leave a bad review". Post #1 already started with bad comments (3 days no response, 3 weeks last time it happened) about them.
CloudWeb 07-08-2010, 10:44 AM I might be posting nonsense because i lost the files, i lost the servers and now i will lose 2000$+ for nothing. will u pay that ??
This is the prime example of what happens when you get in over your head and which is why I constantly remind people of whether their service is managed or not, and if it's not you seriously need to be capable of administrating the server/vps/etc even if it is "passively" managed by someone.
At the end of the day you made out as they credited you for this, but this should serve as a valuable lesson that it could end up costing you a lot in damages.

As I stated in my response to the OP, that he did get a response. The resolution took longer, but he was not negatively effected during this time.

I got you and I know you did what you could here. My response was in response to the blackmail comments.
TheException 07-10-2010, 04:32 PM New Internet Regulation suggestion - Internet Licenses. You must hold a valid license to operate websites! :P
123Systems-Andrew 07-10-2010, 06:59 PM I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one that is trying to figure out what exactly LiquidWeb done wrong here?
1.) OP's server gets hacked
2.) LiquidWeb tries to help him
3.) He decides posting here will get it done faster, He goes for it.
4.) LiquidWeb still supports him even after the repeated accusations
Seems like LiquidWeb is doing a fine job regarding this case, And as you all know Benny has no problem admitting when they were in the wrong (From a previous thread), so i wouldn't see any reason for them to lie about this one?
Just my 0.2
server prodigy 07-10-2010, 10:21 PM I'm amazed that such a cool, easy to work with type of guy like the OP would have someone hacking his server and using it to launch DOS attacks. What's this World coming to?
And why do I have the strangest feeling the OP is running some kind of forum related to piracy, gold farming, etc?
Oh well, call me pessimistic.
StealthyHosting 07-11-2010, 12:21 AM And why do I have the strangest feeling the OP is running some kind of forum related to piracy, gold farming, etc?
Was wanting to ask that question when I read this topic earlier.
HostColor 07-12-2010, 03:43 AM It looks to be one of those situations when the customer didn't administer their account properly, while the web host for any reason decided not to respond promptly on his support tickets. I wouldn't post anything against LiquidWeb because they have obviously acted on the issue. The nervous clients seems to be fine now!
For any reason web hosts are getting anxious when someone comes to WebHostingTalk to complain and always find time to resolve the issue...
RSkeens 07-12-2010, 06:23 PM This looks like it has been resolved without any further updates.
