View Full Version : Can't decide! Resellerspace, httpme?

Hiya!

I've been reading WHT for a while, researching etc etc and I've finally narrowed down my reseller host options to two contenders: HTTPme and ResellerSpace.

I just can't decide which to go with! I've found as many comments about each as I can on on WHT - neither seems to have unhappy customers.

Looked at all the plans, RSpace is cheaper, offers SSH (though apparently there's a bit of debate about SSH security atm...) but offer half the bandwidth on their first plan (I probably won't be affected either way though).

A lot of people here seem to like HTTPme, and I have to say they do seem to have great support. Then there's the added bonus of working with a fellow Aussie! (A fellow Queenslander at that...). I'm starting up as a reseller, so support in this area would be beneficial though obviously not required).

Aside from plan specifics, what other differences should/could I take into account? NAC (HTTPme) vs. Yipes (RS) networks? Anything else?

Cheers all,
elliot.

I have been with HTTPme.com for about a month and a half and have to say that I could not be happier! Everything has worked flawlessly on their part, and the depth of community resources there can't be beat IMO. Just read through some of their forums over there and form your own impression.

well there ya go! more bloody qld'ers

and no, i don't go for qlders, it was just a piece of (useless) trivial banter :stickout:

yeah i've been browsing around the httpme forums a bit, it is quite impressive. still, i'll need to be completely convinced that i've made the right choice. i know that i'll be happy with either choice in the end, it's just something i seem to go through whenever i purchase anything!

any more comments ppl?

I've been with HTTPMe for about 4-5 months now. No problems. Very flxible, helpful bunch. In the event of any problem the forum is quickly updated and problem resolved - often before users are aware of it. The honesty and openness make a very refreshing change.

Go with HTTPMe.com!

Aussie Bob is my hero. I've also browsed his forums and I must say that his community is quite content.

Im with Httpme and its excellent!
They really have there stuff in order, very friendly/informative/professional people. No problems at all, ive had to request support once only because i screwed something up and they solved the problem within a matter of minutes and answered all my questions.

I highly recommend them, but if not httpme you might want to give voxtreme a look see.

You probably wont get a lot of our customers answering you on here. Most of our customers didn't come to us via WHT :)

Although we are in the race here, I have to say httpme are very good and you will be very happy there (should you choose to go there).

Oh yeah - we're in Sydney, so this is like state of origin now?

I havent seen much of resellerspace mentioned here, that is true..

But i have talked to two people that has had accounts with them and they did have nothing but good things to say about them. But as far as personal experience i can only speak for httpme which is excellent.

resellerspace in sydney? well there ya go. hehe, no i'm not the partisan type, location really doesn't weigh too much on my decision.

good comments coming from both ends of the spectrum it seems, though i haven't made any decision yet

is there any difference between the two data centres? pings and traceroutes are mostly similar (is that a reliable measure though?)

i still have a couple of weeks before i decide (and purchase) so i'm delaying my decision for as long as possible!

cheers all ;)

If you want to do some reseach on the data centre's we use - we're in webreseller.net and theplanet.com, we're also looking at NAC (where httpme has some servers).

Anyway good luck in your search :)

True true, everyone knows Sydney always wins the state of origin anyway (ignoring the times QLD have won of course) :D

Bob from HTTPme.com is a great guy. Always looking to help. I am not sure about the other host? What was the name again? But, Bob is a downright honest guy, so I suggest you giving him a try.

Good Luck with whoever you choose! :)

Both hosts are respectable business owners, either choice would be fine I'm sure of that, but can't recommend either one or the other as I have not personally used their services. :D

well after the battle is done, and the dust is cleared, there can only be one winner :stickout: (though i'm not certain i know who it is... hehe)

decision not set in cement yet, but it's closer! i can feel it!

anyhoo, thanks all!

hope i didn't open up too much of a can of worms on the whole interstate rivalry thing here ;)

may the sunshine - i mean, best state win :D
