Can anyone suggest a RELIABLE, REASONABLY PRICED host who provides reseller accounts with SSH? It seems that most of the more reliable hosts who are frequently recommended here do not offer SSH. (Mabye this is what keeps them reliable?)

Anyway, I need a good reseller who provides SSH access, and would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks.

You should be able to find a reliable reseller provider that offers SSH. Whether SSH is provided or not depends on the individual host and whether providing it fits in with their security policies :)

We personally haven't had any problems from providing SSH access to either our Multiple Domain or Reseller clients. I guess you just need to watch what the clients are doing and keep tabs on all sections of system security :)

I really only found two hosts that offered shell access, sendmail, AND additional IPs all on the same plan. I went with CyberShouts and set up EasyMonitor to keep tabs on the server. The only down time so far has been the normal Apache restart when I add/delete accounts. Support has been fairly speedy, but I haven't had any real issues yet - just a bunch of NOOB questions. :)

Does the host have to advertise SSH access seperately?! :D, personally we've never advertised it because i've always expect any decent host to include it, and i'd want the right to deny a suspicious or potentially abusive client SSH access. Have you been basing your search on advertising? or contacting the hosts? I bet a lot have the same attitude as us, just like we dont advertise 24x7 ftp access :D (while some do, dont ask me why, is there *ANY* host that has < 24x7 ftp?!) :D.

Believe it or not but there have been sales questions here based on that. After the second one it went on the website and there hasn't been one since :)

Nothing wrong with being particular, but I ran across at least one hosting outfit that flatly stated "no way, no how" and that it was "good for me" if nobody on the server had shell.

Coincidentally, they also insisted that "no one needs IP-based accounts anymore". (obviously because they didn't HAVE any to assign ;))

Sounds like a newbie with a rackspack box (ip pricing makes it impossible to offer basically).
