cperciva 04-24-2001, 08:09 AM It looks like it's their upstream ISP (aperian) which is at fault. All my tracerts are stopping at border gateways just outside of aperian.
Steve33 04-24-2001, 08:27 AM They are in Aperiens noc. Unbelievable......2 hours and counting and it was doing the same thing
about 6 hours ago for hours.
Matrix 04-24-2001, 08:37 AM Yes, I've noticed the downtime today too.

Matrix 04-24-2001, 08:44 AM Node9,
The server is down right now.
XTStrike 04-24-2001, 08:45 AM FOR F*CK SAKE
thats all i can say, how come whenever i go to sign up with somebody they go down?
this truly takes the P1SS
they had better have a VERY GOOD excuse otherwise the nice new dedicated server i just signed up for is going to be cancelled before i even get it!!
Im giving him 5 hours before i cancel the server if i do not get a response from Weinbar
13:43 (UK) - GMT
im sorry, but as you can expect, i had exactly the same with ***** and CobaltRack, and this is turning out exactly the same!
Matrix 04-24-2001, 08:51 AM xstrike,
calm down every host has some downtime. I've been with them for a little over a month and the only other downtime was maybe a few minutes.
I've sent him an ICQ and i'm sure they are looking into the problem.
XTStrike 04-24-2001, 09:11 AM i know every host has downtime, but so far ive NEVER had a host with good performance, it just does my head in when i have been looking at such a positive host, then BANG they die, i cant have it, do these people not have backup routes?, i mean 1 line goes down and the entire system dies.
what about UUNET ?, do they die, i mean its just, im so angry i cant talk, well at the moment, there is steam comming from me im so angry.
Im a nice person to deal with, but when i give somebody $399 i expect something half decent from it, i dont expect to go to check their site and get a "Service Unavailable" message.
Then find everybody had been disconnected from my server, then people contact me and say my service is crap and dont visit my site again, ive seen it happen!

I'm sorry but over 4 hours (and counting) in a 7 hour period is completely unacceptable,
especially when some of us depend on our sites to make a living. An hour I can understand, 2 hours is pushing it.
Matrix 04-24-2001, 09:16 AM Weinbar just contacted me through ICQ everyone should be back up. Apien (Spelling?) had a router switch that they were fixing.
XTStrike 04-24-2001, 09:19 AM so, my entire dedicated server will rely on ONE ROUTER ???????, what about backup routes?
can you tell Weinbar i would like a full explanation posting here otherwise, my previous praises will be erased and my account i started today cancelled.
yet again, let me admit i am a patient man and can be stretched fairly far, but when it comes to people taking my money and going down on me, THAT is when you will notice my opposing side!
the first damn day and it goes down
This is the first time anything like this has happened. There was a router problem that was out of our control.
I can understand everyones frustrations that the site was down, but we have everything back to normal and super speedy.
XTStrike 04-24-2001, 09:36 AM a couple of things, im happy, you responded :)
im still unhappy about the downtime, but am glad it is now fixed.
I will give Weinbar the benefit of the doubt and continue with the Dedicated Server i have ordered.
Because the guy sounds honest, it wasnt his fault and he responded quickly to our postings
But i would stilllike 1 thing answering:
1 ROUTER?, if a single router goes down the entire of WeinBar goes off the net ?? - what about a backup router?
xtstrike,
I'm know you must be  now. But do calm down and give weinbar a chance. I'm sure they will be a great host. I also have noticed that your past experience with the other 2 host, but weinbar is weinbar.
Since today is your first day, you still can have 29 days before your refund expires. Give them just this little chance & i'm confident that weinbar will make up for this outrage.
Actually, xtstrike's server has not even been placed on the network yet!
Again, I do apologize for any inconvenience. This was a shocker to us as well. We had no idea as APerian is the one with the routers. They are the ones who were on top of it and took care of the situation when it arose. I was infromed of it as soon as it took place.
I put my son in my wife's care and I headed off to work at 2:00AM to oversee our servers. The router problem was not in our building, so I am still waiting on what happened.
Yes, I too am surprised that if only one router went out, why not a backup. I know we have redundancy and I know we have multiple routers. The question is why wasn't the others utilized.
Again, I will find this out and report back here.
XTStrike 04-24-2001, 10:05 AM thanx Michael :) :D
Your understanding, and fast response to the issue has pleased me.
Although i do hope you well and truly "bollock" (as we call it in the UK) the people whom manage your offsite router redundancy and configuration.

Hmmm...Maybe all of this is because of a curse you have? :D
XTStrike 04-24-2001, 11:14 AM hmm, how do i find out if i have a curse?
cos id really like to know!
im sure once my WeinBar server is setup and my curse folows me a fair amount of people in here will be displeased with me, lol
WTFHosting 04-25-2001, 01:14 AM Of couse ***** and CobaltRacks are known to be two of the worst...It's understandable you've had trouble with them... As they say, you get what you pay for...
StephenRS 04-25-2001, 02:39 AM so far with Weinbar, I seem to be getting MORE than I pay for.
