Boksoft 04-24-2001, 06:49 AM This is a complete webbased help desk software program, written in PHP4 with mySQL. Efficiently manage your customers inquiries using this webbased program. Do not miss any requests anymore, don't answer an inquiry twice, see which technician is performing best, which clients need most support. What the average turn-around time is for a request. Plus many more possibilities.
SHD runs on windows, linux, unix platforms. Layout is completely customizable, code can be edited also for own use.
Go here to test the online demo and see the features list:
http://www.smarthostingtools.com/shd-index.html
Normal price is $199, for WHT members only $150. Just email me at sales@smarthostingtools.com to get this discounted price.
ksstudio 04-24-2001, 07:10 AM looks like pretty cool in the design & features. But $150....
:)
Boksoft 04-24-2001, 07:44 AM We're not from the "get-everything-for-free" generation...
It's a lot more affordable than the comparable current help desk programs out there.
allan 04-24-2001, 09:22 AM The tool is very nice, at an extrememly attractive price. But I have a couple of questions:
1. How customizable is the submission form? Different hosts may need other fields (ie account number).
2. When a new ticket is opened, or a ticket is updated, is e-mail sent to the support group? I'd rather not have someone sitting with a browser window open all day waiting for a ticket...or worse, forgetting to do that.
3. Suggestion: You should create a field in one of your MySQL tables, to allow you to export questions to a knowledgebase.
Overall, a very good product.

1. You can give different names to the fields, or you can add ones yourself as you are free to edit the code for your own use.
2. That's something we overlooked. We will include that right away, easy enough to do.
3. That will be included in further version / free upgrades.
allan 04-24-2001, 10:04 AM You're p*ssing me off :D. We have a developer who has been working on a very similar project for us for a few months now, its almost done, and does just about everything your package does, but it has cost us > $1,000.
Next time you start a project please let me know first :D.
Boksoft 04-24-2001, 10:51 AM You should look at our website more often. It was announced to be released there about 2 months ago.

Boksoft 04-25-2001, 10:48 AM As some of you have asked me how long this offer is valid, I thought I would post it here:
The offer is valid until 15 May 2001.
Mafukie 04-25-2001, 11:50 AM Not bad, Admin section is kinda sloppy though.

Yes but how long until the new version.
I would prefered that those options were already included, as I don't want to be waiting forever to get the updates.
kunal 04-26-2001, 11:02 AM nice desk :)
Boksoft 04-26-2001, 03:02 PM Thanks Kunal :)

An export function to a FAQ/Knowledgebase is planned for the first week of June. Maybe sooner.

The special offer is only valid for a short period. All customers will of course receive free upgrades.
If you want to wait until the knowledgebase export function has been added you will have to pay the normal price of $199.
Boksoft 05-14-2001, 11:17 AM Just a friendly reminder that the Special Offer will expire on 15 May.
So today is your last chance to take advantage of this offer!
