Hi,
Can anyone recommend any UK based hosts with dedicated windows 2000 servers. I only want to host 2 sites on it. I will use sql at a later date.

not that i am aware of, you tend to pay higher prices for UK servers, www.uk2.net might do them for you.
If cost is not an issuse you could go to
http://www.uk.xo.com/
http://www.uunet.co.uk/
I would strongly recommend going to the USA, the $ conversion is a twat but other than that its ok.

Correct, hosting in the USA is much cheaper, but if you have a site targeted to UK audience, you may want to host in UK. Response rate is much slower for US vs. UK site from UK and this is especially noticeable by high-speed customers with cable modem or DSL (I am on NTL cable and I can see that).
Some well known companies use different approaches - uk.altavista.com is located in the US and uk.yahoo.com - in UK.
One more UK ISP to check: dedicated-servers.co.uk

hi
if you search my post approximetaly all of them are related with host in europe
first of all if you have chance dont dont dont host your server in England as it has the higgest bandwith prices in europe and America
if i were i go with resseler options of fasthosts.co.uk
if you want total control over server they also have dedicated options(newly started)
i dont know uk2.net offers windows but their general problem is they are offering too low bandwith an thier extra bandwith price is too high(20pound/gb)
i dont suggest that firm as they are not seem reliable to me (Search posts of mine) is digitalswiftness.co.uk they have the best prices in england(maybe in europe)
also although i dont like them i also offer donhost.co.uk but they dont sell dedicated they are colocating your server and thier prices are also best in england(After digital) we made a deal about 250 pound for 150gb bandwith but it was special deal so i offer to you contact with them via telephone or their liveclick option in thier site
and the ghoulnet although i didnot make any work with them they seem to me the most reliable in that market but yes as same donhost they only offer colocating
contact with them
these are the one i remember now i will add more if i remember others
also planing to open a site bigbytes.co.uk about dedicated servers in europe wait and see
thanks

http://www.legend.co.uk - Bradford Based Company.
netscalibur.co.uk is also worth a try. Was once direct connection, a well established company. There bandwidth prices seem very reasonable for the UK.
With web hosting, its only £5 per extra Gb, and co-location bandwidth prices are fixed, i.e. £250 a month for 1meg dedicated - so i dont see why it shoudl be too different on dedicated servers.
worth a look

I would suggest a look on www.bigbytez.co.uk for a list of UK hosts.

As discussed in a previous thread Digital Swiftnes doesn't host in the UK, they host in the USA (Unless it's changed from about a month back), the bad thing was that even the owner didn't seem to know they were hosting clients in the USA.

Hi there,
Have a look at http//www.dedicated.fasthosts.co.uk. They have just introduced their dedicated server range. Two windows 2000 servers and three Linux servers to choose from.
I have had a look at the Windows 2000 options and have to say they are very good and am about to purchase the Windows Matrix Elite box. They also provide an online interface which gives you root access to your box and you can install absloutely any components you want.
Hope this is helpful...... :@)

Hello
It might be worth checking with:
www.xcalibre.co.uk
www.ultraspeed.co.uk
Both of these have racks at Redbus Interhouse which is more reasonably priced than other London facilities.
