i have 2 raq 550's and need to backup between the two. doea anyone know if the cmu beta and the raqbackup script works? if so any help would be apreciated.

no, unfortunately CMU is still unable to do 550-to-550-migrations so it's not recommended to use raqbackup.sh on a RaQ550.

I'm very sorry about that but I think Jeff Bilicki works very hard on this issue.
