I asked eNom:
I am trying to set the pricing for one of my reseller sub-accounts, but am experiencing a bit of trouble. I seem to be unable to set the .name price below $7.45 even though my own pricing is at $6.95.

This sub-account was created BEFORE the recent reseller policy change, and my understanding was that we could lower these "old" sub-account prices to match our own. (I thought it was only for NEW sub-accounts that we could not set prices below $8.95.)

Thanks for your help,

Me.

And the response from eNom:If you want to lower any sub-account prices below $8.95, your client will need to deposit half the amount that new "direct eNom" resellers would need
to for the same discount.

In other words, normally a new eNom reseller would deposit $3975 to obtain a $7.95 rate. Once your client refills the amount of $1987, we can change their rate to $7.95. Just send reseller@enom.com an email and we can update their .com rates.

Or if they refill for $3475, you can have their rate changed to $6.95.

Interesting.. so it seems if you have a sub-account off an ETP.. you can get low pricing for 1/2 what the ETP had to pay.

Interesting policy.
To get $6.95, one need only plan to register 500 domains.

Still too much for me, but this might be a godsend for some. :)
