Hmm. WHT doesn't have a graphics forum, so I guess I'll ask here. I have a logo supplied by a customer that she wants me to use in a new site design. The logo has got a white background. Aside from taking out the eraser tool and removing all the background manually, is there some other way to do it to ensure a clean crisp result?
Thanks for your help.

You can use a tool in Photoshop, I forget the name of it, and go around it zoomed up and get a very clean cut of the image.
When I open up Photoshop in about ten minutes I will return back to this thread with the name of the tool.

Ah, I've just downloaded your logo. This tool wouldn't really be suitable for what you want to do.
What you need is to make the colour white, transparent in the program you are using.
Yes, I want to open this jpg in PS or Fireworks (preferable) and change the white bg to a transparent bg.

In PS, use the magic wand tool and select the white, then cut it to a new layer and delete that layer.
Voila, one transparrent background...

Just what I was about to post. :agree:
Cool. Thanks, guys. I tried the magic wand in Fireworks and it worked like a charm. :D:D:D:D

Just made you a PSD with a transparrent background, just tell me where to email it, as it's too big to attach...
EDIT: Nevermind, see you figured it out :)
Thanks for the effort, Tazzman. See? You're too good of a teacher. I beat you to it. :D
Besides, as the old saying goes, give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, he eats for life...
