I remember someone mentioning Instabill for their merchant business. Anyone have pros/cons about using them? Can anyone send me what their order form example looks like?
Thanks!

Can anyone send me what their order form example looks like? Thanks! Soph:D skysenshi 04-23-2001, 01:36 PM I use Instabill, but there was one order that I was really mad about because they didn't inform me or the client that the order was declined. So my poor client was sitting there expecting me set up his account until the 24-hour waiting period was over. I had to offer him free one month hosting for compensation. It really irritated me that Instabill's attitude was that of nonchalance after numerous emails to them. They responded to all emails but none of those actually addressed the problem. Anyways, the form looks like this: https://secure.instabill.com/payment/add.asp?merchantID=102911&ProductID=Unix1Copper01 Synergy 04-23-2001, 02:29 PM Well if you are starting a business, I suggest using instabill to start off. When business goes good, move up to revecom. Pros: Cheap service fees (10% and no monthly fee) Cons: The extra 10% withholding they take from your revenue.;) But you'll get it back through time. GordonH 04-23-2001, 03:41 PM Hello We still use instabill as a back up and for AMex and Discover (which we don't have merchant status for) They have very good security features. This is a benefit to us but for a new start you might find the high decline rate a bit of a bind when some of them will just be address typing errors. Gordon iBiz 04-23-2001, 03:42 PM I echo what is said above, service seems to be a little weak, but for the cost as long as you don't have problems, it is great. WTFHosting 04-24-2001, 11:38 PM We currently use Instabill and haven't had too many problems. They always pay on time, and we have always expereinced fast technical support (contray to what everyone else says, perhaps it's gone downhill in the last few months?) At any rate it's fairly annoying how a lot of orders are declined due to address verification errors, although I suppose it protects us as well as Instabill from fraud... Tox 04-25-2001, 04:56 AM Their support has been great for me as well. For I have also had a few problems with credit cards being rejected. In this month two of my customers (been with me for at least 2 months) had their card rejected. When they sign up again it'S accepted again. It's a bit annoying that I have to tell them to sign up again because it seems this is Instabill's fault. Haakon 04-26-2001, 06:10 AM The same as WTFHosting and Tox, but you two should just ask them to check the order out and they will let it go through. Cael 04-26-2001, 06:27 AM We used to use Instabill.com and very happy with them. Nice control panel, nice support (but beware, if a client send a mail to them to ask for refund, they will issue the refund at once, and you can't argue) and nice service. :) Tox 04-26-2001, 07:25 AM Haakon: Lately that doesn't work :( nox 04-26-2001, 07:56 AM Originally posted by Synergy Well if you are starting a business, I suggest using instabill to start off. We have accounts with both Revecom and Instabill. Revecom and Instabill use the same interface. Revecom take $50 from you and offer a lower transaction fee and holdback BUT they grab your Credit Card details so they can charge it if you have refunds/chargebacks OR ADMIN FEES that they can determine as necessary with a free hand. Instabill is a dream in comparison... if you are serious about reducing your liability that is.... and, as with most things in the business/banking world... establish a relationship and then negotiate better fees.... Having found Instabill, we would love to find a similar service for other businesses we have, that currently use normal bank based merchant accounts... If I was to compare the number of problems per transaction I have with Instabill compared to that of our normal bank... geez.. the bank is a nightmare.. Instabill have to be a little more watchful of fraudulent or dodgy transactions because it's so easy to open an account with them, so abuse is higher.... but it's never caused us to lose a customer. Both services seem to be professionally operated and well suited to this business.. :) |
