Cause right now i am waiting for over 24+ hours to just get my box up from this dedicated server company. I hope you get it back soon mate! :) bwho 12-10-2002, 02:14 AM 10-20 minutes to get it rebooted could be accepted as acceptable.. anything greater than 30 minutes to start the reboot process is unacceptable. granted it may need to do a fsck, or something of that sort.. but those times are just for starting the process ( flipping a switch ). may be a sign you need to look elsewhere? We check the system if there was errors, and then reboot it. Which by us it is by hand, during the day, we just walk over about 10 Steps, and push a button. I recommend that you have the BIOS's on the boxes to return to the powerstate, so if you expirience a power loss... you dont have to go and push buttons for the next 15 mins. And if there is a crash during the night, we get there and figure out what needs to be done, then do it. So tops, the downtime should only be at most 30 mins. |
