Hey guys. I am primarily a web designer, but I have been thinking about getting into web hosting on a rather substantial level. Now, I was just speaking with one of my main web design clients who just happens to sell web hosting. For a reseller package, he quoted me at $150/month for 10gb of space, 100gb of transfer, CPANEL, unlimited MySQL and all that jazz. My question is, is this a good deal?
Sounds good. That's probably for a dedicated server. It also depends on the availability of the website - how often is it down?
The only other thing is that usually, it's better to go with Reseller Account than with a preset package like this one. With a Reseller Account, you don't have to pay for space you're not using, basically. However, with 10GB of space, you would be able to sell 100MB accounts for less than most companies are offering out there.
You also have to make sure that you will be able to host other domains and how many email accounts you will be able to get. Some clients require a lot - I speak from experience :)
Also, you have to be able to limit space usage for domains that you host. With a 10GB account, you may never know if some client is taking more than their fair share without doing some work on your part.

He's said unlimited email accounts (which is what I have going with my little 50 mb account for my own site), full control over all account options like web space, unlimited domains.

For reseller hosting, it is a very good deal. Just for comparison, MCHost charges $100/month for 52GB bandwidth and 2GB space, and Nocster charges $100/month for 5GB of disk space and 100GB transfer. You do have a very good deal, especially for disk space.

Yeah, I just finished doing all the math and the space is great, but I'm gonna need more transfer I think.

I would say it was an excellent deal. I would chaeck to see how many of these accounts were being placed on a server. Anymore than 4 or 5 would be overload.
