If I try to download any software the following error appears:


The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launched.

Error loading type library/DLL.
I have no idea how to fix this... didn't really understand what I read on some help sites, either.

Disalbe your antivirus program

It sounds like your ikernel.exe has been quarantined by Norton, restore it from norton antivirus.

If this doesn't help, post more information about your system.

Are you logged in as an administrator, what OS etc.

I just got it solved.

What I did is I copied all stdole.tlb files from my other computer to this one. Seems to have worked.

And it was actually McAfee AntiVirus that I was trying to install. :blush:
