Here's a snippet from the next to last entry on my resume. I'm wanting to go independent because my wife's job is in a small midwestern town, and I'm sick of having to maintain a second residence hundreds of miles away where the work is. My rate will reflect that small midwestern town's cost of living. Full resume and references available upon request; experience with globally recognized companies.
TIA
Intranet database development on both an Apache/Unix platform and IIS/Windows. Reporting against existing Oracle data, new development with MySql. ODBC to import Oracle data into Access 2002, and exported data from Access as XML. CGI with both Perl and Tcl (including "OraTcl" library for Oracle database access) on Apache/Unix, CGI/Perl on IIS/Windows. Installation of existing Perl libraries, and creation of custom libraries, including the enablement of parsing Access-generated XML. Perl DBI (database interface) programming of batch migration of half million records from Oracle to MySql, and subsequent daily migrations as a cron job. PHP web scripting, and installation and administration of MySql database software, on both Linux and Windows 2000. Javascript for data validation on various CGI and PHP pages. Installation of Oracle client software on Windows 98, and modification to tnsnames.ora file to interface with numerous distributed databases. Administration and installation of Oracle 8i database server software and RedHat Linux operating system, versions 6.2 and 7.1. Partitioned Linux during installation to conform with Oracle's "Optimal Flexible Architecture" (OFA). Recompiled Linux kernel, and (re)installed numerous drivers, libraries, and other software, including Apache, Perl and PHP, both manually and using the RedHat Package Manager (RPM). User administration on both Linux and HP-UX. Process administration on HP-UX led to decision to upgrade processors.
