We are looking to provide a Shopping Cart solution to our clients on our servers. All of our servers are CPanel based. I have been looking at the Interchange shopping cart. I like the proffesional look it provides, however the setup seems to be horrible. It may just be me, but I'm finding it difficult to set anything up on it. I can get items added, but cannot change the shipping method and other features. I don't normally design e-commerce sites, I'm just looking for a solution to provide our customers and want to learn a little bit about it before we provide it. There also doesn't seem to be any howto guides or newbie guides on how to set up Interchange, step by step. What does everyone else use as a Shopping Cart solution on CPanel servers? I know the Agora cart is preinstalled, but I did not much like the look of it (albeit, it was easier to set up). I'm just looking for any input on this matter.
Thanks

Hi there,
For Cpanel I use oscommerce. I know this is not very intuitive for new users but the support is good on the oscommerce forums. Plus the functionality is good too with it's ability to support most payment gateways.
As another alternative I have recently turned to X-cart. Yes it's commercial and it doesn't auto install with the Cpanel but those customers who go for it like it better than anything that I have on cpanel. In fact so far it's been wonderful!
Other than that it's pretty much whatever meets your individual needs and such. All I know is that both of these carts seem to cover quite a few users out there and I'm just happy to have a solution that works so far.
About the others you mentioned, perhaps some other people can comment on those. I have tried them, but they didn't suit my needs. Sorry.
One point I have recently been made aware of is the issue of Search Engine compatibility. I've been told that oscommerce is not good with search engines. X-cart is not bad and with the new version out shortly it will be even better. The others again, I'm not sure. Recently on some other forums though the issue of Search Engines and spidering shopping carts has been important to users and host providers alike. Just something to think about.
Thanks,
Ricoche
