Hello,
I was just wondering what everyone thinks about FreeVSD for commercal usage? I've seen people requesting low amounts of CPU/Ram/Disk Space which would be perfect for VPS. I do not and cannot afford to spend $$$ on either ensim or *** as its not really worth it.
Also, is anyone else having problems using :

I try to follow the install guide but it doesn't actually work properly. :bawling:

all I can is that I hope you like to hack. I had it very close to commercial usage, I have to screw around with the webadmin program and use the entire thing a lot to get a feel for it. I also had to write some custom shell scripts along with some perl programs to ease the admin side of it all. If you got about a month of free time and can hack, then you should be able to do it.

Hello,
I haven't really got a month or the expert knowledge to do what you outlined as needed. I will probably put it on a server (if the install instructions are available) and get people to beta test it.
Do you know of any either FREE or reasonable priced VPS software? Which in your opinion could be used in a commercal basis?

no, if you dont pay there will be a LOT of work with it. Also with freevsd, imho, you need to know about the OS pretty well, otherside you are up ****s creek without a paddle

Hello,
Well .... know of any good VPS software which doesn't require a lot of work? You know... software which works well without the need to hack or anything? Also, will you be releasing your "hacked" version of FreeVSD ?:D

used it for a year commercially, it's very good but is resource intensive, both hardware and system admin time, there were claims of many VSD's per server but we found that even with 2GB of mem you run out of resources both hardware and software very quickly and we stopped using it because it was so system admin intensive.
However customers did like it. I imagine the pro version is easier to install/use and comes with support but it is pricey and so gets close to a low end dedicated server.
