Is it a good idea to ping webhostingtalk.com as reference for the connectivity of the rackshack $99+ servers? (not the cogent 10 MBit ones)

Does webhostingtalk.com have a preferred connectivity or are they connected just as every other $99+ server?

I think RS has more than one little celeron box running this forum, someone correct me if I"m wrong though.

Do the $99 boxes have exact the same bandwidth quality, anynone know that?

Yeah, it's the same - compare a trace to webhostingtalk.com with a trace to subprofile.com.

then it looks good, ping times beat NAC from several places US/worldwide according to my tests, and never geats really bad

Must be new adware router technology to force a pop-up back when ICMP packets hit it... Yikes! Hmm - it would be a good tool to stop ICMP DOS attackers though.
