I just want to tell everyone who reads this that I am a Cyberwings refugee, and due to that experience became quite disillusioned with the hosting business.

After that I went through several hosts of various prices, and had challenges with all of them. Then I stumbled upon HostPC (It's been long enough, that I don't remember HOW I found this host.)

Of course when I came to HostPC (www.hostpc.com) and saw the prices I was sceptical! But, I figured that if things went south I would not lose that much. I paid for the first month for only one site about 6 months ago to test the waters.

I now have 9 sites hosted here and one reseller account, and I have NEVER looked back.

Joe and Mike (his partner) have been some of the most pleasant people to work with. They have patiently answered my questions, walked me through some of my challenges, and keep improving HostPC everytime I turn around.

This endorsement is freely given because I honestly believe that this is a top quality hosting service, and I want to see it remain so. If you are looking for hosting, I encourage you to give them a try. I have not been disappointed at all!

Sincerely,

John

Nice to see a positive post and the man even included links to his sites so no one jumps his case thinking he's just the host spamming for themself :D

Joe @ Hostpc is one of my resellers who graduated to his own dedicated machine, exactly what reseller accounts are for get a start and build your business on a solid base, I know from occasionally helping him out with his new server as well as things I helped him setup during his reseller days that he's trying real hard to be a little above the average host in terms of service.

I woke up this morning to find more than a few orders for new service - couldn't figure out where they came from until I checked my logs :)

Thanks Gary and John... with only a couple hundred customers I don't get as many mentions here as some of the larger hosts but I try :)

Thanks for your support - I sincerely hope we can continue to live up to your expectations!

Just to stir a bit ... *couple of hundred customers* and on one dedicated box ... hmm well ... well done ...

Couple of hundred? On one box? What's the point? Unless you're hosting large forums you can easily get 300-400 to a good box.

Hell I remember the techs at Cyberwings finally admitting they had over 900 domains per 512M box now that's something to tut tut at but a couple hundred probably ain't exactly a lot.

Going by averages here only .. with the smalles accounts out there giving 50-200MB HDD and at least 5GB B/W ... well .. couple of hundred would suggest overselling ...

Most of my customers are very small sites, with a few larger ones in the mix...

I really don't think I'm overselling anything, in fact, I'm pretty happy with my system stats as of current: http://ensim1.hostpc.com/HotSaNIC/

I'm ready to add more servers at any time... and they'll all be managed just as efficiently.

HingyGuy,

Did I miss the part where Hostpc.com said that he had only ONE dedicated server?

Wanna point that out to me? Or are you just making an assumption?

Well, you shouldn't be. You have not been provided with enough information to honestly assess whether or not they are overselling. That's not really a nice thing to do. Someone comes here to praise their service and you proceed to cut right into them because you made an assumption.

Let's not turn this into a debate about the number of domains per server again, eh?

Well if we want to turn this into a debate, we can go back to the a newbie registering just for the 'praise mail' ... a host replying to a 'praise mail' ... so no let's not turn this into ANY kind of debate ...

Haha you could but it'd look pretty poor to do so since the original poster was nice enough to even include links to his sites.

Oh yes .. but I created www.yahoo.com, www.altavista.com and my 1st site was a little known place www.microsoft.com, so I thought I'd include them in the post too ...

Always one cynic in the crowd. Check the tracert's on the sites, or a whois and check nameservers....

WHT is going downhill IMHO...full of self-righteous people so afraid of competition that instead of encouraging new hosts, cut them to the quick and try to create controversy where none exists.

If someone posted a thread about my hosting biz without my knowledge, damn straight I'd reply and thank him.

Hello,

I have known the owner of hostpc and he is a very nice guy. I agree with with ArtieFishill, this is a nice post praising a host and there is no need for anyone to talk bad about them. I know many happy customers that are with hostpc and never heard one complain. Keep up the good work Joe!!!.

What in the heck are you spouting off about? What the hell does those web sites have to do with this thread.

Anybody with half a brain who was at all suspicious would first whois those domains offered to see if they're really being hosted by hostpc.com. The man didn't claim to create some famous big name web site he said "hey these are the sites I host so you can see that I really am a customer".

My man you've got a chip on your shoulder about something and I'm not sure why it was brought into this thread but you need to cool it.

Wow... I certainely didn't expect to get this kind of reaction here. I'm sure it wasn't anyone's intention to start a "war". I do thank the several people who have stood up and given me a vote of confidence, including Gary of Dixiesys... that means a lot - he's well respected here.

I also wish to thank the visitors who brought on a small "rush" to hostpc.com - it was unexpected, but definately appreciated. We'll work hard to earn your confidence. My stats are right out in the open (http://ensim1.hostpc.com/HotSaNIC/ ) for anyone to see the network loads, disk space, etc ... I'm not hiding anything, nor am I pretending to be "bigger" than I am... I am comfortable with where we are - but always ready and able to grow farther.

Thanks again everyone.

Joe

Hey Joe :)

Don't worry too much of what goes on around here. Just keep your nose clean, don't lie and do your utmost best for your clients. Shame on you for posting stats like that in public too. ;)

Best of luck. :D
