I have seen a few hosting companys with advertising on there sites. Is this a good or bad idea? i can see how it could seem inappopriate. Any Thoughts on this?

BAD idea, I'd say...

For a corporate website to have third-party ad banners all across their website, looks very unprofessional.

Most people would wonder why they'd put ads up in the first place, maybe profits aren't so good, business going downhill, etc..

Plus, they are also distracting.

If you rely on adverts to make money then your in the wrong business. Don't expect to make any profit for at least 1-3 months.

Also yes, it's a bad idea to display adverts. Visitors automaticaly think "oh this host isn't making enough money".

;)

Thanks guys for all your help! I was really just wondering. I always thought, why the hell do they have that on there. I never really thought fully about doing it :)
