View Full Version : Confixx vs Ensim
kittiwat 12-08-2002, 02:45 AM Confixx is $159, Ensim for unlimited domain is a little higher. Features, on their web sites, look pretty mcuh similar to me. I've tried ensim (demo), but never tried Confixx. What do you think are the difference between these 2 packages? One thing I know, ensim is usually slow with patches. How's ******* comparatively?
kittiwat 12-08-2002, 02:46 AM Oh, and S W - S o f t became ****? I thought it's just for H-S-P.
fernandodl 12-08-2002, 07:37 PM Where did you see taht Confixx is $159? I visited official site and price is: 798,90 Euros.
kittiwat 12-08-2002, 10:43 PM From their web site. It's a special price at the moment, I guess. Their pricing move quite rapidly.
mistral1 12-09-2002, 08:26 AM kittiwat, what's the URL of their special promotion?
kittiwat 12-09-2002, 08:34 AM http://www.s w - s o f t.com/products/confixx
Hey, I should be asking them for a referral fee! :D
But nobody is answering my question above. :bawling:
AussieHosts 12-09-2002, 09:16 AM We had a look at www.confixx.com last year (or perhaps much earlier this year). It has no DNS management and needs a fair bit more work doing in its language files. So we gave it a miss. I contacted them more recently...about a month ago I think, adn there hadn't been any further advances so I assume it's a fairly localized product to their European market.
Cheers
Gary
DigitalIsles 12-09-2002, 03:45 PM Editor, you may be interested in knowing that they are releasing v2.0 January 1 that does DNS management and it looks much better. I am working with them to eval the software hopefully sometime next week.
AussieHosts 12-09-2002, 09:01 PM Good stuff. Thanks for the update.
Gary
kittiwat 12-10-2002, 03:40 AM Wow, I better wait then. Thanks for the info.
DigitalIsles 12-10-2002, 12:19 PM No problem. I am rather excited to see what it is like. I went to their web page and looked at the screenshots of everything and looked at the features and I am pretty excited. It is all in German though, but the google translator thing works great! :stickout:
AussieHosts 12-10-2002, 12:32 PM We installed a mostly English version some time ago, but it does need some more work. I'll be interested in seeing what the next version brings.
Gary
DigitalIsles 12-10-2002, 12:47 PM I'll let you know when I get it. I assume that it must have some type of demo mode, so after I set it up you can take a look.. :)
goodW 12-10-2002, 01:00 PM Hi Editor
Could you share your impressions?
Do you use it on dedicated servers or on VPS?
AussieHosts 12-10-2002, 01:08 PM We don't use it currently goodW. We got a copy and installed it, and used an external set of nameservers to point a few domains at it to see how it went. It performed well, but as I mentioned earlier the lack of a complete translation was the most disappointing aspect. So with a DNS system and some tidying up of the language files, it looks promising.
I will add that they guy we worked with was very helpful. They seemed keen to get everything running well.
Cheers
Gary
DigitalIsles 12-10-2002, 01:36 PM Agreed, they are quite helpful. I will be using then on VPSs.
goodW 12-10-2002, 02:01 PM Thanks for feedback. I'm just thinking on what would be better to get: Confixx or CPanel template.
I know a lot of thinks about CPanel but nothing about confixx. On the other hand, if I get cpanel template I need a licence...
btw. Where was that guy from?
Is he a confixx tech man?
DigitalIsles 12-10-2002, 02:26 PM The guy I talked to was introduced to me by my rep at sw soft. I believe he was a tech guy and he seemed compitent and was able to answer my questions directly. I actually ended up getting both... ;-) Everyone knows Cpanel, so I got it, but I think people will like Confixx once they are exposed to it, so I want to be ready in either case. ;)
goodW 12-10-2002, 03:03 PM This is really good news. It would be perfect to talk to that guys directly when I need a support.
And again about confixx. Is it easy to use from your point of view?
DigitalIsles 12-10-2002, 03:18 PM They have a demo on the sw soft site for it. It is version 1.0 though and it is really easy to use. There is currently no demo of v2.0 available, but they do have screenshots. It looks better than v1.0 and it also includes dns support. I can't really tell you much more about it, because I haven't gotten my hands on it yet. :D
MiloandOtis 12-10-2002, 04:28 PM Don't know if this is a new thread or not, but I've never heard of them. Are they reliable and what does the GUI look like?
appreciate first-hand accounts.
DigitalIsles 12-10-2002, 04:34 PM Yes, they are reliable. They are well known in europe and the leading company for control panels there. (So their marketing says.) From my searching on information, I find this to be accurate. Anyway, they have a demo of v1.0 on their site and screenshots of v2.0 there as well. The site address is http://www.yippi-yeah.com be advised, it is in German. ;)
