Is there a way to protect your domain name such that no one can use it, like what big companies do, such as Sony, IBM .. etc, so no one can register a domain like sony.com or ibm.com if their regestration expire with networksolution.

I hope I'm clear what I want to say.

IMO the best way is to just register it for yourself. It doesn't cost that much to register and park it somewhere.
