Hello...

I am sorry for my English and my many questions.

I am thinking to rent a Cobalt RaQ 4i on RackShack.net with this specifications: 128 MBs RAM, 20 GB HD, 150 GBs monthly transfer for $99/month

I don't have experience to admin a linux server so I decide for Cobalt RaQ 4i

1) What is your opinion for RackShack.net? a) speed b) reliable c) support
I am resseler to ventures online(good support) and I am disappointment with vdi... I want a reliable network.

2) Did you know how many ip I get for free?

3) How many accounts like this (50mb HD, 2000MB monthly transfer, SSI, CGI, PHP, disable mySQL and SSL, with 1-5 user ) can support / handle the Cobalt RaQ 4i with 128 MBs RAM

4) How many accounts can handle 1 ip ? if I have many ip for the accounts it is more faster and reliable the server?

5) If I want to control the transfer for a account must have 1ip for 1 account ?

6) Can I setup a account like www.acount.com & account.com ?

7) Can I install mySQL ?

8) The packages on cobalt.com it is safe to install ? they have problems? Can I uninstall? (I don't have experience and I am afraid if I can handle a hard situation)

9) How much cost to restore the RaQ ? if I restore the RaQ I lose the data from accounts?

10) How I can install a firework? (protect the RAQ from virus, hackers, worms)

11) I cant understand how works the backup, where the files store? On my disk or on a tape to RackShack? How many old days backup can restore?

Thanks for your help

They will restore your server for free the first time or two, but after that its $250 to restore.

Don't abuse it, or they might not be so nice and restore it for free next time you buy a server or come across a problem.

a) Pretty good.
b) Excellent.
c) Very good.

Yes you can. You just need to add a line to the server alias part in the control panel.

8) The packages on cobalt.com it is safe to install ? they have problems? Can I uninstall? (I don't have experience and I am afraid if I can handle a hard situation)

Yep, they're safe. And yes, they do come with uninstallers.

c) Very good.

Hi Justin...

I am with rackshack .. and i will be with them due to their price, reliability and their nice support people ....

But how can u say their support is very good ....

please read

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?threadid=7207

I have seen you in their support chat ... but all the people here agree that their support people should be more professional ... They are nice but they don't know anything. Moreover if you have your own dns ... you won't get any support at all ..... thats the rule ... and I think no one having a hosting company will go without their own nameservers ...

If you are part of their team ... I will suggest you to improve the level of support and you will see you orders doubled in a week ...... just try it ! :)

At this time I am having trouble with dns ...and I dont know where to go .... :(

Hi

Sorry if I sound so dumb..... new to Linux and RAQ. I am interested in getting the 99 server from rackshack and am hoping everything is installed.

If I install mySQL, how many databases can I setup for myself? for my virtual domain users?

Thanks.

I think you can set up as many as you want until you run out of hard disk space.

Talking to Rackshack last evening, they said that the reason it was brought down was because it used too much resources and overloaded their servers. This caused technical issues and prevented it from working properly.

While it is unlikely that they will bring it back soon, they said they will investigate if it might be possible to bring it back some time in the future.
