Hello

I want to setup the enom software on my server so i can use the API info to register the domains etc. What i wanted to know was what is the first step in doing this?

I have downloaded the ASP files from enom reseller section, and have it unzipped what would i have to do next?

Ask your parent reseller for help. That's their job.

:)

Of course, my first question for you is WHY do you want to use the API system? If you are not planning to register many domains per month, it may be much easier to just user registryrocket, or even do it manually.

Just a quick note, their API don't include any CC billing feature, if you need the CC billing to be incorporated in the API, you may have a look at DRAMS (http://www.dramsystem.com) web site.

Hi
I know lots of folks use enom but I'm stumped! Any advice? Here's the specs:

1. I did the $495 reseller account
2. I downloaded the api / sample site in perl form
3. I set it up and it does work
4. I have WHM AutoPilot

The down and dirty
1. though the perl script works I don't get it. I only use paypal and no merchant account so when I disable credit card in the perl script and then I "register" a domain with the perl script, it just lets me buy the domain name without any payment. Is this perl script (reseller.pl) what my clients are going to be using??? Can it somehow integrate with paypal???

2. I need to be able to sell domains separately without hosting if need be so I need to be able to sell wihtout whm autopilot too. So can I somehow usethe perl script to sell domains on my site?? This may be where all my confusion comes from. My impression is that the perl script and sample site is what we use to sell domain names via our website.

3. whm autopilot doesn't work anyway with the domain name purchase feature enabled. I ge php errors. I have support requests in with autopilot but if anyone knows about this it would be much appreciated.

So that's it. I've actually paid for $495 worht of domain names, etc. but just need a nudge in the right direction!!

Click the link in your enom control panel called "R-Rocket". Then set up your links and pricing and that's it. :) No need to work with their software or API, etc..

Just point your customers to your "URL" and they'll see a simple website they can use to search for domains and order them from you.

(BTW - You could have signed up for free under any enom reseller and received the same pricing $8.95 as you got directly from eNom... )

The API doesnt include CC functions if you are a sub resellers - all ETP accounts can use the CC functions built into the enom api.

The first step would be obtaining a resellers account - contact sales@enom.com for that.

The second step would be to install the com object that is with the ASP scripts, and then install the asp scripts themselves. Making sure to follow the directions in the installation text. 90% of all initial problems are becuase people dont or cant follow directions included in the scripts.

Third step - edit the register pages and set your pricing. I'm sure this will become more centralized in the future, but for now you have to edit the register file.

Last but not least - test everything out on the test server with a couple of registrations - once your ready, put in a support center case with your login ID and servers IP address and tell them your ready to go live. Once they tell you your IP has been added, edit your registry on the windows computer with the asp scripts - find the regisry key for the com object (its in the instructions - go figure) and change it as indicated in the instructions.

Vioal - your done!
