I'm going to tell about horrible 1&1 domains. Yesterday night
( 05 th of May 2010 ) I paid 1&1 to buy a new domain. But Still they didn't register my domain name. Will take 1 or 2 days to register a domain name ha? very funny ... :o:o :D

Now I'm in a big risk. Anybody can register my domain name. My domain name is still available to register.

I saw soo many bad reviews in the Internet about 1&1.

Hence i will only use 123reg within the uk, I think their the best in the uk when it comes to domain registration.

Yeah.. Unfortunately 1&1 batch register their domains... - I experienced the same last night when taking part in their free .com promo...

I still managed to get it - but the amount of time taken was awful.

I couldn't agree more, 123reg are excellent. most of my domains are registered there.

Definitely - though I only use them for .co.uks.... Anything else and I'd recommend enom - the 123reg control panel is a bit quirky.

It use to be worse! they have improved the site a lot over the years and made it a little more user friendly, they offer great prices for .co.uk, I find them quite competitive on most domains and they have great special offers from time to time, I picked up a few domains at £0.99/yr a while back.

I also use Enom and would recommend them as the service is very good

I thought 1&1 was more for web hosting I'm not in the uk but I heard about them.

It is - but they're not that good for hosting either really... They lock you into contracts and you have to pay silly amounts to get out of it.... Their support is pretty bad too unfortunately.

Today is my 3rd day. Still Not Registered my Domain Name.

You are really thankful to let this community know about their services.

I think such companies are only responsible for bringing bad name to hosting companies and they are here just for the purpose of scam...

I wouldn't call this scam, but i would call that a really BAD SERVICE
They can delay the service a few hours to check manually every order to prevent fraud, but 3 days without news is totally unreasonable, and today is friday, a good company wouldn't take too much time to decide it

If its been 3 days Id contact them directly... Something will have gone wrong in their system. It only took 1 day for me ;s (the normal amount of time)

Well, they are a scam company. They bought a company I was hosting with (life time hosting), back in 98ish. Even though I paid hundreds for the hosting, 1&1 decided to cancel all the accounts (thus keep the money).

If I had any brains back then, I would of either did a charge back or take them to court. But I didn't so my loss..

But after that, I knew that this fake company are nothing but scammers.

Yes Today i will go with Godaddy.

They are very big on fraud prevention even when its a genuine order, all orders are on manual acceptance. This has only changed over the last few years. There not great with my personal experience. I would recommend phoning them just to confirm your order and clear things up.

You should contact them for answer

same thing happened to me, just call them and tell them the domain hasnt been approved/registered yet, thats what I did and they registered it within 24hours

the domain was free so i didnt care much, but if this is the same process they use for regular registrations I wouldnt reccommend buying from them.

This is my first bad review I seen about 1and1, Namecheap is a good domain register i have 10 domains with them.

How did you buy the domain? If it's still not registered you should consider getting your money back
