Do you know what domain registrar has the cheapest price for domain transfers and renewal? I found namecheap and name.com has $6.99 for domain transfers

If you combine it with some hosting, you'll probably get it free. But GoDaddy is a renown registrar. What is it for you to pay 10 or even $20? Nothing if your sure everything is going to be fine!
Good luck

Its always better to keep your domain registrar and hosting at separate. You have to only update the DNS at your registrar end. I think transferring is free if its within the same registrar with another users.

I do not agree. In any case for some providers that could be good recommendation.

@OP: which domain name extension are you talking about?

ResellOne.net - $7.25
Internet.bs - $7.15
ResellerClub - $4.99 (On promo)

Dunno what's the story with Name.com but they'll probably hit you with a renewal fee - KO

$6.99 is a 5 cent lost on a fixed price commodity

This is quite true. It is always better to rent services or register domain from those hosting companies which are highly authentic.

It might be the case that you need to pay some cents extra but won't matter if you are completely tension free about your hosting company as you can't deal with fly-by-night companies.. :(
