Another logo contest, and a chance to make a few bucks.

I need a logo for our site http://www.hostingwave.com
Logo should fit the HOSTING'WAVE' theme. Maybe a big surf wave, or something??? Animation would be a real bonus, if you got creative. Think outside the box - I have made logos, and my art work is horrible.

1. I want to place the logo above reliable $6.95 hosting, and to the right of the computer in the big empty blue spot.
2. I posted the image slice if you need to use it for the background.
3. I would also like another version of the same logo on a pure white background (very important).
4. JPG or GIF

I will allow 48 hours for this post, or if I see something I like sooner - I'll end it.

yeah we have several designers who have done work for us and receive hosting. we also give them reseller privilages so if they do multiple designs for different projects we allow them to resell the extra hosting account to ppl or use it for their clients. and we get what we want they get what they want and some extra $$$ by reselling the extra hosting accts tehy worked for

Not to be personal or anything like that... but I have always wondered how people do this... you know, get a great logo at 20$... if you contact one of the local firms that produce logos for business cards, letterheads, etc. - it costs much more.

Well, I decided to look at little closer at this one. The image in the logo is copied from:

That seems to be a clear violation of copyrights.

I did an image search on google for "wave" and that came up. If it truly is copywritten i will remove it. I thought it was a regular Microsoft clipart image... That is what many people do.

I tried to make some flash, I thought it would be fun to humiliate myself :)

Also, to see the Hosting Wave Flash correctly, you'll have to resize your browser down a little bit because I uploaded it straight as SWF, If I had made it as HTML it would have been fine.

This is the wrong way to go about it. You should initially assume that _everything_ is copyrighted, unless it says otherwise.

If you read my original post, you will see $20 is for a simple logo. I am flexible if a lot of time is spent on the work.

It looks like the wave Orion used was clip-art. I would highly doubt that is a problem.

It's from the Kratt's Creatures website. A kids show on PBS.

Even if it was clipart, most companies would not be satisfied in having their logo designed with it. An image on your logo could end up being used in someone else's too.

Wow, the competition heats up... CreateSpace, thank you and good job... I like the logos, but I don't think they match the 'WAVE' theme I am going for...

CREATESPACE: My response to this, is that you all need to read the original post again. I said I will decide in 48 hours or sooner, if something grabs my attention. I have seen only a few logos, and gave my opinion off all... relax...

Also, if you would read the ad says to use the 'WAVE' as a theme - which you did not.

Finally, my budget is $20 for a basic log. You do more, you will get more - that is not a problem. I never said I wanted a flash logo for $20...

Here is another one. I actually like this one the best out of the one's I have created.

Orion: I like the wave one the best... The last one you did is good, but when you insert it to the rest of the page it cuts off a little.

I like the 'WAVE' theme...

Could you please upload it to your page so I could see, or take a screen shot? Once you do I can fix that :) Thank you by the way. Also, by the 'wave' theme, did you mean how I made the text look wavey or would you still like a picture of waves?

Modified a little bit. If you interested I will put it in the sliced image you brough up. It will fit in perfectly. DOn't mind the size. As I said before, resizing will end up in no distortion.
